It's that time of the NFL calendar when there's not as much news in between the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine, but there was big news for Pewter Report with the hiring of Jon Ledyard to the PR staff. Ledyard will be making his debut on the Pewter Nation Podcast at the combine in Indianapolis.

The combine is obviously important for scouting players, but it's also a time where GMs and other executives get a chance to talk face to face and possibly work out some trades. One player that could get brought up that weekend is Bucs' tight end O.J. Howard, who is coming off a down year. Should the Bucs entertain an offer for the young tight end? What would the return value be like? We discuss if this should be in consideration.

There's been reports as well that the Arizona Cardinals might try to shop David Johnson due to the amount of money owed on his contract before deciding to just release him. Johnson played for Bruce Arians for years in Arizona, and a reunion could be coming. This is all hypothetical, but if the Bucs can work something out, how would he fit in the Bucs' offense?

The question about the next Bucs quarterback is still unknown and this could keep going until March. There's been the question about Tom Brady as the next quarterback, especially with his recent cryptic photo, but what about Philip Rivers? The veteran QB and the Chargers are parting ways so there's a legit possibility that he could be the Bucs quarterback, where Brady is speculation. Is Rivers a fit? We debate that.

SR's second mock draft came out and he has the Bucs going with an offensive tackle in the first round. Part of the reason for that is because this tackle in particular is physical and has great footwork, which comes from his days of playing basketball. Some might not realize, but playing basketball is a big factor for football players, because they can get things like good footwork down, and that separates that from others at the same position.

The PR staff has been at Tropicana Field all week for the East-West Shrine Bowl practices scouting the players who have hopes of playing in the NFL. With the Senior Bowl coming next week, the group points out some players that have really stood out, and question how much stock we should put into it after we see players at the Senior Bowl, especially at offensive lineman, where the Bucs will be looking at.

One of the people calling the East-West Shrine Bowl on Saturday afternoon is NFL Network and Fox Sports' broadcaster Charles Davis. While here in St. Petersburg, Davis sat down with Mark and gave his thoughts on Jameis Winston's future with the Bucs, and what Tampa Bay should do about it. Davis also spoke about Todd Bowles, who the greatest Buc of all time is, and whether Ronde Barber and John Lynch should be Hall Of Famers. It's an interview you won't want to miss.

It's the first podcast of 2020 and all anyone can talk about is the quarterback situation for the Bucs. As the fate of Jameis Winston is still undecided, there is a slight, yes, slight, possibility that Tom Brady could become a Buc this year. We break down the hypothetical of that and how Brady would look in Bruce Arians' offense with the receivers they would have around him. The locker room likes Jameis Winston, but to have a six-time Super Bowl champion like Brady would bring it to another level. Is it worth the gamble to have Brady as the quarterback for two season? The other biggest news surrounding the Bucs' and what they'll do with Winston was an interview that Carson Palmer had on the Rich Eisen Show. Palmer played for Bruce Arians in Arizona, and explained why year two could be so different for Winston if he comes back, just because he'll know so much more about this complex offense. Palmer said that Winston could have a massive season in year two with Arians, and we discuss what a "massive" year for Winston would look like after already throwing for over 5,000 yards.

Dotson broke down what makes Arians different then the other coaches that he's had here, and expresses how much he liked playing for him this season. When it comes to Winston, Dotson tells us how teammates truly felt about him in the locker room, and whether he thinks Winston will be back next season. The Bucs season ended in a way that highlighted one of the biggest topics for the team this season, a Jameis Winston interception thrown on the first pass. This time, it didn't happen in regulation, but in overtime, Winston's first pass was intercepted and taken back to the house as the Bucs lost 28-22. Now that the Bucs have finished the season at 7-9, the number one question is can this team win with Winston?

Decision day is coming for the Bucs as they decide what they want to do with Winston. The general consensus is from the PR staff is that Winston will be back next season, but in what capacity? The Bucs have only used the franchise tag four teams in their team history since the tag was created. Will they use it again, or can they convince Winston to sign a two to three year shorter deal? In this same game, Winston became the eighth quarterback to throw for 5,000 yards and also became the first to join the 30-30 club of 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. There's no easy answer to this.

Outside of all the questions around Winston, we also break down the rough game Matt Gay had, where he missed three kicks. If Gay makes one of them, the Bucs win this game and we're not talking about Winston's turnovers issues.

Shaq Barrett also broke a franchise record and Jason Pierre-Paul had another big game. The PR staff stresses how important it is that they both return next season as this defense grows together and improves on how well they've played in the second half of the season.
