Phantom Electric Ghost

Published My First Novel at 50. Then I Built a Publishing Company|Jay Floyd

Jay Floyd is an author, storyteller, coach, and longtime technology leader who decided that writing the book wasn’t enough, so he built the publishing house he wanted it to come from. He’s the founder of Tomorrowlight Books, an independent publishing company he describes as an attempt to build the A24 of books: a home for distinctive stories and voices that don’t always fit neatly into traditional boxes.

His debut novel, Thunderbird & Kool-Aid, is a literary crime and coming-of-age story set in 1988 Cleveland, exploring friendship, masculinity, family, violence, and the difference between the people we know and the legends we make of them.

Jay’s work sits at an unusual intersection of storytelling, technology, leadership, coaching, neurodiversity, entrepreneurship, and reinvention. After more than two decades building a career in tech, he’s now building toward something he’s wanted for much longer: a life centered around telling stories, helping people, and creating things that leave a mark.

He lives in North Carolina with his family.

The neuroscience & biology of Sex and attachments|Vannah Hughes-Isbell

(S.O.S.) Science, Orgasms & Spirituality

I’m an autistic Marriage and Relationship Therapist specializing in sex and love addiction, infidelity, partner betrayal trauma, attachment, intimacy, and non-traditional relationships.

A significant part of my work focuses on the people the mental health system often struggles to understand—the people whose families are asking, “Why won’t they just stop?” or “Why doesn’t anything seem to work?”

These are individuals who may carry labels such as sexual addiction, love addiction, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, treatment-resistant depression, explosive anger, or chronic relationship dysfunction.

But I’m interested in what may be happening underneath the label.

Sometimes behaviors that appear manipulative, resistant, compulsive, emotionally volatile, or self-destructive exist alongside—or may be complicated by—autism, ADHD, OCD, complex PTSD, attachment trauma, sensory differences, and nervous-system dysregulation. When we focus only on the behavior without understanding the brain, trauma history, attachment system, and environment surrounding it, we risk treating the symptom while missing the person.

Dementia in the Raw: Why Caregivers Are NOT Helping | Lisa Berlanga

Today’s guest is Lisa Berlanga, author of Dementia in the Raw: Confessions of a Caregiver UNCENSORED. Drawing from her personal experience caring for her mother with dementia, Lisa speaks candidly about the confusion, anger, exhaustion, grief, and family conflict that caregivers often experience but may be afraid to discuss.

Her work combines raw, deeply personal storytelling with practical solutions that help caregivers survive—and eventually thrive—through the everyday realities of dementia caregiving.

Lisa's mission is simple: to be the honest, unfiltered, down-to-earth advocate she wishes she'd had from the very first day of her caregiving journey.

When Loving Hard Feels Like Too Much | Livvy Landin

A few easy ways to describe Livvy Landin:

She’s 18. She acts. She models. She grew up between Georgia and Michigan after being born in Colorado. She went to IMTA in Los Angeles this year and came home with first-place singing and acting awards. You can mention Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, and ABBA. All true. All useful.

But the more interesting story is that an 18-year-old woman just out of high school sat down to write her debut single and somehow landed on the emotional economics of loving somebody who keeps convincing you that your heart is taking up too much room. And that song became an American Songwriters Award nominee.

Feature her, and you’ll find there’s considerably more going on here than another pretty girl making pop music.

The Transformative Power of Imagination |Christopher Kaufman

I started writing fantasy stories with colorful illustrations when I was nine. Later, I discovered music and lived the life of composer for many years.  My stories never left me. I emerged from my schooling phase with my music degrees and the full event structure for my fantasy series Tales Of The Ocean City - through book eight, which I am completing now.

Austin Galante on Music, Movies, & Multihyphenate Careers

I make movies, music and act. Currently working on preproduction for my 5th indie movie. Just released the comedy Horror Sanguine Teeth on a Driftless road and have 2 more movies coming to streaming.

My next guest is an independent filmmaker — director, actor, and cinematographer — who's carved out a singular voice outside of Hollywood. He's directed four feature films, including the cult hit Sanguine Teeth on a Driftless Road, which picked up numerous festival awards including Best Comedy and Best Director.

He's also an actor with roles across film and television, and before stepping behind the camera, he spent years touring as a musician and producing music featuring artists like Cee-Lo Green, Snoop Dogg and KRS-One. With 34 film festival wins under his belt. Austin made his feature debut with Suite Killing Machines, a super low-budget arthouse crime comedy that announced him as a director with a genuinely singular vision. His follow-up, Sanguine Teeth on a Driftless Road, is a dark, offbeat vampire road-trip comedy that's earned numerous festival awards, including Best Comedy and Best Director — and it's built such a devoted cult following that fans report having to rewatch it just to catch everything they missed the first time.
