Phantom Electric Ghost Interviews Pop Groove Duo ROSAWAY

ROSAWAY is a Parisian pop duo consisting of Rachel Ombredane and Stéphane Avellaneda, whose music is born from an unlikely and original combination: the flute and the drums. Bringing a refreshing ‘’french touch’’ to the table, Rachel’s soothing voice beautifully bind together the pair’s instrumentation. With a pleasant reminiscence to 70’s theme-song-style grooves, ROSAWAY combines vintage sounds with modern blend of the present and past.

Both musicians have deeply honed their crafts and careers: Rachel earned her Bachelor’s in flute, Diploma in music teaching and Masters in musicology at the Sorbonne in Paris and the Vocal Academy. And with an ambition to explore different musical genres, she found herself on television sets singing with international artist such as Ed Sheeran, Jain, Broken Back, and in prestigious venues such as the Zenith of Paris.

Over his career, SteF has become a renown blues drummer and international touring artist. SteF started his professional journey as part of the blues band Mercy, and soon after that was propelled to the big stage alongside the Serbian guitarist Ana Popovic. He became her official drummer and has toured around the world to over thirty countries, having shared stage with legends such as BB King, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang. SteF played with many other artists such as Ben Poole, Robyn Bennett, Carlos Johnson, Marko Balland, Vinnie’s Vice…

SteF was nominated by the Drummies awards in 2015: Best blues drummers

Phantom Electric Ghost Interviews Multi-Instrumentalist LUVR

Bio:

25 year old multi-instrumentalist, LUVR, is a Dutch musician living in Den Haag, NL. Having spent 13 years in Toronto, LUVR became obsessed with drowned reverb and lo-fi melodies popular amongst Toronto producers. Combining the aforementioned influences with his love for Jazz and Soul music, LUVR quickly developed a strong, unique sound that spoke for itself. In 2018, he took part in a Native Instruments Beat Competition, which resulted in him receiving the Grand Prize. Later that year he was invited by Native Instruments to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), where he won second place at the live remix competition. He released his latest single, Say Something, in early December and is currently releasing a new song every 2 weeks through 2022.

Benjy Bradshaw The Phantom Electric Ghost Interview 2021

Described as a “creative chameleon” and a “fierce musical force,” Benjy Bradshaw is the epitome of a DIY musician — one that embodies self-invention. Known for his extravagant looks and one-of-a-kind live performances, Benjy is an independent recording artist pushing for love, self-acceptance, and creative exploration.

Raised in a working-class suburb outside of Oakland, California, USA, his multi-ethnic background (Native American, Portuguese, English, Irish) and private Catholic school education ultimately contributed to his constant exploration of self identity. Rock Operas such as “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” as well as 1980s synth pop anthems served as a foundation of sorts — allowing him to realize that he wasn’t alone in his “queerdom.” It was this curiosity of self that inspired him to begin creating music. Locking himself in his garage-turned bedroom, Benjy began to create Casio synthesizer melodies and lyrics, even without any formal training.

After taking a musical hiatus through most of high school and university, Benjy was re-introduced to his creative impulses after living the London, England nightlife scene (during a study abroad experience at Central Saint Martins School of Design). He was so enthralled with big city life, that when Benjy graduated from the University of San Francisco, he went directly to study interactive art at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. It was living in New York City (a lifelong dream), where music re-entered Benjy’s life.

Two months after graduating NYU, as a way to fight mid-summer loneliness, Benjy wrote his first official pop song, “Online Boy,” touching on the innovations and pitfalls of 21st century queer life. In the years following, Benjy always found healing through creating his own electronic music in private.

Today, Benjy is ready to share all the music that he has made — inspired primarily by dance, house, and new wave music. Besides singing, songwriting, producing, and performing, Benjy also loves to "art direct his life" -- experimenting with photography, makeup, fashion, and design. He fights everyday to make sure others also find their creative voice — in whatever form that may take. Currently producing an unreleased catalogue of over 30 songs, Benjy does not fit the blueprint of a typical pop star, but proves that being a perfectly imperfect self-built artist can be even more exciting.

Phantom Electric Ghost Interviews Steven Bupp

Artist Introduction

Hi! My name is Steven Bupp. I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember. I got my first guitar at 12 years old and have been in a band ever since. While I have been around the Philly rock and roll scene for most my career (mostly with my band Sex With Rollercoasters), I have since ventured out with my own solo venture. It started out as a simple chiptune project to pay homage to my favorite sounds growing up. My new album “An Opera Of Knives” has expanded into an elaborate orchestral and electronic Opera.
