In this episode of the Newsmakers Podcast, PHCC Indiana’s Dan Quinonez (left) and PHCC Foundation’s Chuck Gillespie (right) discuss a new re-entry training program at the Hamilton County Jail. The pilot program uses PHCC Academy’s HVAC pre-apprentice curriculum, along with hands-on press training, to help inmates build skills, earn certificates, and prepare for guaranteed job interviews after completing the course. Canonez and Gillespie also discuss why the trades are well-suited for second-chance opportunities, how the program could help address workforce shortages, and what success might look like as the initiative grows.
