Many of us work 9 to 5 day after day after day with so little to show for it. We just live for today, have shorter life spans and become a company man. Sometimes it's good to get away. Some get away from it permanently disillusioned by daily news and the voting machine. They find a magical land under a stadium of glittering stars. This song is about a man from Montauk who finds peace where silver waters fall on shades of green. Enjoy the "Company man".
Lyrics:
Well, he came from the town of Montauk
Far on the eastern board of the U.S.A.
He worked his way across interstate lines
Each day seems to roll into another day.
He said enough of the acid reflux
Continuous migraine and pressure of time
Enough of the 9 to 5 routine
Waiting in queues and endless lines.
He feels those echoes of lost years
Feels emotions and heart felt tears
So dead in the water with a shorter life span
Just live for today, be a company man.
It seems too late to say goodbye
At the time we’re moving on
It seems to late to say goodbye
when life has passed us by.
The sky is the stadium of glittering stars
Far from the city, fast jobs and cars
Silver waters fall on shades of green
Disillusioned by the voting machine.
Rainbow colours light up his eyes
Free with the spirits under open sky
We all need a little of a magical land
A short time away from the daily news stand.
