Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel was sworn into duty in January 2024, and has been tasked by new mayor Cherelle Parker with dramatically reducing crime in the city. Gun violence, retail theft, ATV riding, and strengthening community relations are all on Bethel's mind, as is growing his own department.
