A Madera man who was convicted of Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach-related charges and later pardoned by President Donald Trump is running for the county’s Board of Supervisors in the June primary election. While residents questioned the need for “war‑zone” tools, police leaders said the gear is rarely used and essential for high‑risk situations.
