Super excited to share this episode with you guys. This was one of my favorite conversations I’ve had yet.
Sara Townsend of Phoenix Fitness has a great story to share and amazing advice for women in firefighting, but men would do well to listen too.
Sara Townsend is an amazing wife, mother, entrepreneur, fitness coach and retired firefighter paramedic. Founder of Phoenix Fitness https://www.facebook.com/groups/470021078290261/ where she helps women and men pass their CPAT with 100% success rate.

We talk about how difficult it is to have a miscarriage while still having to be at work caring for other people’s emergencies. This was something I struggled with in PA school during clinicals and I can’t even imagine how hard this would be as the woman going back to firefighting.
There’s no doubt that fitness is important in EMS, especially firefighting. This is a topic that pretty much everyone has room to improve upon; whether it’s better sleep, hydration, mental health or exercise.
If you have any doubt on your ability to pass a CPAT or are struggling in the fire service as a woman please check out Phoenix Fitness for some top notch coaching. https://www.myphoenixfitness.com/
