ONE OF the aspects of the long spiritual war we don’t often consider is the importance of blood. The rebellious Watchers attempted to corrupt human bloodlines by physically mixing it with their own.

Today, humanity seems driven to fundamentally transform what it means to be human through science like DNA changes to the germline and even experimental concepts in breeding with robots or androids.

Why? It’s the hubris of believing we’re better designers and have better science than God.

THE U.S. DEPARTMENT of Defense ran a secretive project to check out UFOs between 2007 and 2012, according to a new report in The New York Times.

Not surprisingly, the intelligence officer who ran the program is now part of To the Stars Academy of Arts & Science, a for-profit venture to promote “exotic science and technologies.” The heavy presence of intelligence professionals, some with a history of researching the gray area between science and spiritualism, raises questions about the direction and mission of TTS Academy. In our view, it’s another misguided New Age attempt to use science to contact the spirit realm.

Also: China using biometrics to identify potential terrorists among Uighurs; head of the School of Engineering Education at Purdue wants to eliminate “academic rigor”; and Jesuits ask Pope Francis to take the “warning label” off the writings of Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.

AN AFRICAN SECT teaches that the Third Secret of Fatima revealed that Christ returned to Earth in 1962 in the form of Simeo Ondeto, founder of the Legio Maria (Legion of Mary) and a member of the Luo tribe of western Kenya.

The sect, which has been expelled from the Roman Catholic Church, now claims 4.3 million members, mainly in Kenya and Sudan.

SERIAL KILLERS and artificial intelligence highlight P.I.D. Radio’s return after a 13-month hiatus.

A researcher has developed an algorithm to study the habits and status of serial killers. After analyzing the data, he estimates that as many as 2,000 of them may be roaming the streets in the United States.

The only thing more disturbing is the news that a professor at the University of Southern California is programming an artificial intelligence with the thought patterns of the notorious Zodiac Killer, who may have killed 28 people in northern California in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. The professor hopes to crack the unsolved cold case by training the computer to think like the killer, who was never caught, but the AI is starting to write Zodiac-style poetry.

What can possibly go wrong?

THE BRITISH government is close to releasing the findings of its inquiry into the death of Alexander Litvinenko, a fugitive member of Russia's FSB security service (formerly the KGB). Litvinenko died in 2006 at the age of 44, poisoned with radioactive polonium-210. Reports indicate that Litvinenko, who had defected to England, was killed after exposing links between the Russian mafia's illegal drug trade and associates of Vladimir Putin.

TECH VISIONARIES Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman are among a group that's announced a new non-profit artificial intelligence startup. The goal, apparently, is to make sure the first true AI is "good", and its backers say they've committed $1 billion to the project.

This is an interesting development, considering that Musk previously compared building an artificial intelligence to "summoning the demon."
