Pierre Poilievre cheerleads for the Ottawa Occupation

Pierre Poilievre says he's running to be Canada's next prime minister, skipping right over the need for him to win the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada. He's either ignoring or taking for granted the will and intention of the party.

His candidacy announcement flirts with the fringes of facts and and champions the language of the Ottawa occupiers. It's a string of cliches and bumper sticker tactics. What does it mean to be "the freest people on Earth?" What's clear in all of this, the fringe among the "freedom" convoy aren't listening to the fact checked mainstream media. They are listening to Poilievre. And he's already setting media as the enemy. Buckle up. This is going to be one of the messiest periods of politics in this country.
