He got a whooping 68.15 percent of the vote on the first ballot. In a distant second was Jean Charest who only got 16.07 percent of the vote. But, becoming the head of the official opposition is only half the battle. Does Pierre have what it takes to convince voters across Canada that he is worthy of becoming the next prime minister? Meanwhile, across the pond in England, King Charles III, Canada's new head of state, continues to engage in ceremonies in his new role. He is currently on tour in Ireland.
