This week, Pastor Rachel, one of the youth pastors in our church, shares her heart with PIF. In this part of scripture, Apostle John talks about a hope in God. Where is your desire and hope today? When our desires and hopes are in God, we desire to be pure just as He is pure. Yet we do not seek this because we try to fill ourselves with the things of this world. Everyone has an infinitely large, God-sized hole in our lives and we will try to fill ourselves with the things we can, but we will never be satisfied. The only thing we need to do and can do is to open our hearts and believe in all of God and all that He’s done for us. Only then will you truly find satisfaction in the hope that you seek.

Apostle Paul in this part of the letter to Ephesus tells the Church to walk in the love of God. How great is this love that He would give His son so that we may walk with Him? Yet we who hear and know this, still choose to walk in sin by choosing to walk in impurity. Don't let yourself be so hard-hearted to allow sin to rule your life. God is calling us to walk with His Love and walk in purity today.

In his study of Christ’s resurrection, Pastor Pete shares about the intimacy that Apostle John shared with Christ. How can we have intimacy with Christ, the way John had? John understood Christ’s love, what it meant to him, and relentlessly pursued an intimate relationship with Christ. Today, you can have a relationship with Christ that makes you so near to God that everyday, you will have the mind of Christ and the heart of God.

When Christ died for us, He died so that by His death we can put off our old selves and put on a new self. However, even though we are made new, we still struggle with our in dwelling sin. We are so excited by the things of this world, but so numb to the things of God. Starting today, give everything you have to live for the gospel, with no compromises!

He has risen! On this resurrection Sunday, Pastor David speaks from 1 Corinthians to declare the truth of Christ’s resurrection. There is an immutable, uncompromisable, profound truth of the person of Jesus Christ in that He is God and He has paid the ultimate price for our sins on the cross. This day many years ago, Jesus conquered death and claimed victory!

The work of the Lord is not meant to be done alone. Present day culture tells us that we can do anything we want and so we approach Christianity with the mindset of working alone. We think we can evangelize, worship, and lead a Christian life without anyone's help. Apostle Paul in the book of Ephesians tells us that we are not meant to do anything alone; we are called to be counter cultural and stand together, unified for the glory of God.

Are you living a life that is worthy of the calling you have received? The bible says that living such a life is to be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit through humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with each other in love. Is this Spirit within you? How can we have this Spirit? Pastor David challenges us to empty ourselves of the desires of the world and to turn away from it. Make room for the Spirit of God to fill you so that we can truly live a life worthy of the call.

Pastor David shares from the book of Ephesians to compare the church of Ephesus to our church. We endure, persevere, and battle through the work of God, but have fallen away and forgotten the first love who is God, our Father. What happened to the passion and desire that so captivated us to worship at the feet of Christ when we first met Him? It's all because of sin. Today is the day to come back to seek an intimate relationship with God!

Jesus Christ came to fulfill the covenant of the Lord so that He will be our God and we His people. Yet we as the church take this covenant for granted with a shallow view of either legalism or license to sin. Pastor David urges us to repent before the Lord to truly understand the covenant and all the the Lord has given for us to be with Him.

Jesus, during his 40 day fast, journeyed through the wilderness where He was tempted by the tempter. Pastor Pete challenges us in this season of Lent to search for God in our own wilderness. He teaches us to seek the Holy Spirit and nothing else for strength against the temptation that comes in our lives.
