This week the pod's Gamers Three gather to discuss the only game they manage to play together. Over the last five years, Fortnite has grown into something that can be a bit hard to not know about. Drake streaming on Twitch, stealing from popular dancers, Epic suing Apple, Giant Ariana Grande stepping on you, we cover the history and our own experiences with the game. How does this relate to a DIY podcast? Get in here and find out for yourself!

Brace yourselves nerds, it's a comics episode. Michelle and Jake welcome the incredibly prolific and thoughtful cartoonist Sarah Horrocks onto the show to chop it up about all kinds of sequential art as well as the state of modern media criticism. Sarah is the creator of several acclaimed indie comics, including her current radical mech space opera AORTA, as well as a prolific writer and podcaster about the medium. Enjoy the episode and check out her work below!

Our post-episode discussion turns into a whole new episode! Lyric delves into her history with reptile management services as well as some of the weirder aspects of previously discussed Bone Room, including "The Mexican Legs." We round out with some healthy talk about how to manage yourself as a capital A Artist in the world of online business nonsense. Also, we find out what happened to Michelle!

Our first two-parter episode and Michelle is missing! Eliza, Ruben and Jake soldier on as we welcome leatherworker, model, illustrator, and friend of the show Lyric Wilson to discuss her Bay Area history with Eliza and to talk about being a person who makes things with their hands! Currently, Lyric runs the leather shop Xenolux on Etsy where you can find a myriad of hand-made leather goods. Part one includes a lengthy discussion about working in California's The Bone Room, the easy money and inherent awkwardness in figure modeling, and the struggle to simply be a person who creates, without all that business nonsense.

015 - Woodworking, a modest introduction.
First, there was soap. Now, Ruben is back with more patented everyman advice, this time about dead trees. Michelle probes Ruben on his Tim Allen-esque practices. Folks, if you've ever wanted to get your hands dirty with sawdust, this is where your journey begins.*
*Actual practical applications of woodworking may or may not be gleaned from listening to Ruben.

Michelle and Jake get to grilling one another about making their respective ways through this Hell Earth. Join us for a relatively laid back and very introspective session of shooting the shit. Eliza had to dip halfway through, sorry Eliza fans! Jake talks very loudly into his microphone more than usual, he is writing this and he is very sorry.

Writer and video-game Elvira extraordinaire Lana Polansky (@mechapoetic) joins us this week to discuss all sorts of stuff. Seriously, we get around on this one. In addition to her writing, Lana hosts The Freak Museum, an exploratory twitch channel that puts weird and/or rare games on display for the world. Marvel's rise to mediocrity, neo-puritanism, embarrassing Joyce Carol Oates tweets, the mechanics of modern leftism: a dense and enjoyable discussion!

This week we are joined by beloved friend and our very logo designer - Francine Bridge! Francine has been working in illustration for a number of years, specializing in the wonderful category of monsters. Her work is known for embracing and emphasizing the grand sublimity of otherworldly creatures, but today we mostly chat about picky eating, tokusatsu TV shows and how to keep your sanity when you're working online.

This week we are very happy to welcome independent perfumer Marissa Zappas to the show to talk about her craft, how someone even gets into the perfume industry, breaking off on your own in a niche field, and the role scent plays in our lives. The discussion takes us on a journey through Parisian history, contemplations of death and decay, and how we think Saddam Hussein might have smelled.

This week the standard crew assembles to dive deep into the mines of the internet's vital proving grounds, Something Awful, for an exploration of DIY drug culture and a little legal benzo called Phenazepam, or "Da Joose" as we will come to know it. Join us as we dive into old forum posts of people dosing this insane substance to examine how messing around with mail order benzos can be a little funny and a lot of terrifying! This podcast only endorses smart and considerate drug use.
