We began this August 2017 offertory with a need of $1,325. By the end of the hour, listeners had pledged $750!

Revival can sound like a big, nebulous concept. But, these four steps to revival simplify our thinking and give Christians some traction.

First, you hear the word of God. Second, you repent of all sin and consecrate yourself to Jesus. Third, as a result of step number two, you are born again. You live a holy life by the power of the indwelling Christ. Finally, you bring others to Jesus.

Will you take these four very practical steps to revival?

In order for God to transfer us to his kingdom of light, he first has to make us holy. Becoming holy–which is conversion–is a choice. It is dying to sin and yielding ourselves entirely to God. Then, God recreates us into a new person who is qualified to enter his kingdom.

The good news is that we CAN escape from sin–right now! You don’t have to stay trapped in iron chains. When you’re freed by Jesus, the natural result will be a strong desire to share the gospel and bring others to Jesus.

Today’s welcome by Pastor Ray Greenley is from John 15:1-7. Jesus promised that if we would abide in Him, that we would bear much fruit for His kingdom. The lack of fruit in much of the American church does not void this promise. Instead, it shows that we need to repent and truly abide in Jesus. Then, we can pray according to the will of God–and even bear a hundredfold! Alexandra Ghaly’s complementary offertory delves into corresponding passages in Romans 11 and 12.

The Holy Spirit moved in power and a wonderful prayer meeting ensued. Are you a fruit bearer for Jesus?

Are you bearing fruit in Jesus?

Prayer is the breath of the soul. God’s will is that we rejoice in Jesus and pray without ceasing.

When sin blocks us from prayer, it’s like we stop breathing. The parable of the sower offers three explanations for why this can happen. But ultimately, to keep the faith until the end, we need to pray, obey God, and read Scripture.

When we walk without sin and pray constantly, great freedom abounds in our hearts. We’re now free to love others. Keeping God’s commandments is a joy. Christ lives unhindered in us. Thus, we bear fruit: some thirty, some sixty, and some one hundred fold!

What is revival, and why is it important? What makes revival happen? Is God calling for revival right now? The answers to these fundamental questions will shape our understanding of revival–and therefore, our behavior.

We answer, “Revival is getting right with God and saving sinners.” Revival is a new beginning of obedience to God. When we take seriously Jesus’ command, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect,” we repent and receive the Spirit of Christ to live in us an make us holy.

Then, we begin to cry out to God for the Pentecost power of the Holy Spirit. When God answers, many individuals get right with God in a short period of time. The result? The transformation of entire cities, laws, and the culture. Truly, the kingdom of God comes on the earth as it is in heaven!

God is willing right now to pour out his Spirit in revival power. But, we must meet the conditions. Will you get clean with God, and keep asking him to send the Pentecost power of the Holy Spirit until he does?

What is conversion? One of the most beautiful and profound answers to this question is, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). In this stimulating discussion, Pastor Ray and Alexandra unfold the glorious truth that Jesus lives inside of a converted person.

The apostle John introduces this idea in his gospel: “as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God” (1:12). Thus, at conversion, a person receives Jesus to live inside of the body and gives him full reign over the soul. As long as Jesus abides in you, you cannot sin. This present, continual submission to the indwelling Christ makes and keeps you a new creature in Christ.

The first epistle of John gives very practical instructions on how to continue to have Christ in you. And, he indicates that this present experience is salvation itself. So, to continue in salvation, you continue to let Jesus abide in you (1 John 2:24).

Likewise, 2 Corinthians 13 and 1 John 3 teach that sinning behavior indicates that Christ is not in you.

So, can you honestly say that Jesus Christ is living in you–right now–and that you’re continually led by him? If you can’t, will you repent and be converted?

This live revival prayer meeting begins with the story of the rich young ruler. This young man encapsulates the American church. Because of a selfish heart, he sorrowfully went away from Jesus. But what did Jesus say about this man, when his disciples asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus said,

With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
