Pinecrest Baptist Church

In this message, Dr. Jim Schettler shares how that God will bring us to the end of ourselves, to a helpless dead-end, to get us to step out by faith and trust Him.

"You move out in faith, and He'll move!"

We've all seen some truly amazing things in our world, but have we seen what God can do in the lives of those who come to Him in great faith and trust?  Today's message shows the healing power of Jesus, but more importantly, the greatest miracle of all - forgiveness!

Everything in life worth accomplishing is worth preparing for.  Let's note how God prepared His people (through their leader Joshua) for entering into and conquering the land of Canaan.

Challenging the church on Vision Night 2017, Pastor Anderson challenges the people not to settle for spiritual mediocrity.  We were meant to thrive!

In this passage from the gospel of Mark we see the great authority given by the Father to His Son, Jesus.  It was recognized by the Father at His baptism, displayed in resisting the wilderness temptations of Satan, and declared in the call issued to all of us as His children to "follow after me."  Don't be tempted to live life without God and His power!

How do you react in the storms and difficulties of life?  The Psalmist reminds us of our "very present help in trouble" and gives us much to instill confidence and peace when we seem at our lowest.

Many aspects of the ministry of John the Baptist were certainly "different", as he preached the gospel of the Kingdom and helped prepare the way for the Messiah.  But Jesus chose to identify with it, and submitted to baptism by John.

We all deal with disappointment and disillusionment in our lives.  In this lesson we learn how to battle our pride which causes us to think we're better than we are and deserve more than we have.  We learn that our goal is Christ, and not that everything in life line up as we envision it.
