Jesus said to be angry is the same as murder?!!  Really?  Let's dig a little deeper into this teaching and examine the meaning behind the words 'Raca' and 'Fool.'

The Sermon on the Mount is all about character and what Jesus says about how a Christian should behave in this world. He did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it.  He freed us from trying to think we could actually do this on our own!

The ancient Romans said, "There is nothing more useful than sun and salt."  Interestingly enough, these are the same two examples that Jesus uses of our influence in the world.

Persecution is probably not on our Top 10 List of wants. Yet the last Beatitude states clearly we are to REJOICE and be glad when it comes our way. How does this happen?

Jesus wasn't a pacifist but He WAS a peacemaker. And He is calling all of us to grow and develop in this character trait.

How is it possible to keep our robe sparkling white while constantly walking through this dirty world? The Bible has great wisdom for this very question!

No, seriously.  Have mercy.  Blessed are the merciful was a tough one for me.  Anybody else feel my pain??

We are blessed when we hunger and thirst for more of Him. What does that mean and how can we create more hunger and thirst for the things of God? Listen and chime in!

The meek shall inherit the earth... if that's alright with all of you.

Is this how you see meek?  I can assure you that is NOT what Jesus had in mind for our third Beatitude.

There's a blessing in mourning??! Maybe this is more than a verse used in funerals.  Maybe, just maybe, it applies to us all!
