The caring heart can create goodness even in circumstances brought about by ignorance or evil.

Speak the truth in love to both the powerless and the powerful. People will hear you better when it is clear that you care.

To sacrifice is to make sacred. We need to bo so commited to the cause of goodness that we are willing to make sacrifices for it to occur.

We often wonder where God is in times of natural disasters. Sometimes we just need to learn how to survive in nature rather than expect God to change it.

The hungry need not die unless we think so.

Some things need to be pure to be safe. Human beings are not in that category. An insistence on purity can destroy our humanity.

Unfortunately, it takes a devastating tragedy for us to look again at one another and see our common humanity. The peace pole tradition that started in Hiroshima Peace Garden testifies to that.

Spiritual transformation should free us to fulfill our human potential not force us to conform to rigid institutional expectations. Faith communities should be about empowering individuals not institutions.

Imagery is a good way to express a truth.  Sometimes, however, we look at an image from the wrong perspective.  The keys to the kingdom of heaven are for setting people free no locking them out of the gates of heaven.
