On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Lynette from Bat Allison, live from Rocklahoma

Lynette says they’re at Rocklahoma supporting Even In Death, a band from San Antonio, Texas, as they’re on the same label, State of Independence Recordings. They also have a new song coming out on October 14th, so be sure to check it out!

Pipeman and Lynette move on to talk about what they love about punk music, namely the ties to country music, and how they took songs from genres you would never expect and covered them. Bat Allison are actually doing a cover of a Ramones song coming very soon!

Pipeman brings up how women are kicking ass in the punk genre now and how it’s changing from being male dominated. Lynette explains her deep music history, saying she started as a kid playing piano and took opera in college, as well as being a band geek with her husband. After getting tired of sitting on the sidelines, she decided to start her own band, playing bass and singing. Her husband said it wouldn’t happen because of the challenges playing bass and singing poses, but she did it anyway.
