Right before the buzzer! I don't know why this keeps taking me so long to do. I'm probably getting lazy ("probably" doing a lot of heavy lifting, let's be real), but the NHL certainly isn't for the faint of heart. The Western Conference has two different dynamics; a yin and yang of teams and skill. You have the sheer talent at the top of the Central, with three groups running away as surefire cup contenders. Then there's the Pacific. It's a gongshow, and that's putting it lightly. Either teams that don't have goaltending or maddeningly inconsistent or worse. At least with the Central, you have a noticeable middle class, but the rest is definitely something to behold.This episode will go over everything you need to know in the West before hockey restarts tomorrow. For the first time in over a decade, the best of the best are currently preparing for a final showdown in Milan/Cortina. A grudge match for the epic Four Nations match between the United States and Canada. The women may have won for the stars and stripes, but the True North has been the best in the men's realm.Why do I mention this? I don't know, but the NHL season's currently on a two-week break because of it. Well into the season, what we know about the season? Pretty much nothing. Look at the Eastern Conference and be amazed at how much of a mosh pit it's become. Streaks, ebbs, flows, and more between sixteen teams fighting to overtake the Panthers for Stanley Cup supremacy. Each team has glaring weaknesses, only one or two groups are truly out of it (mainly involving writing essays to their fans about "retooling"), and the Penguins? Yeah, them.Come and witness the beauty of the game itself... while seemingly everyone has goaltending issues (except the Islanders and Red Wings... the Wings don't?)

You know the feeling: There's a serious injury to your starting quarterback. He'll be out for at least a few weeks (best-case scenario). The head coach gestures to the sidelines to his trusty clipboard holder and grizzled journeyman of a backup quarterback: A man who may have been a highly touted prospect at one point. A player who was a full-time starter for many years, but either due to age, injuries, or plain bad luck, is simply waiting for his next opportunity to play. There may be a Super Bowl about to get underway in a few days, but for many teams, they've been in offseason mode for about a month. Eighteen franchises stuck on the couch wondering what the hell went wrong. There are the preseason darlings who fell way short of expectations, the groups that outright imploded on themselves with endless drama, the ones that fell to shit from the opening salvo, the teams in the middle of (hopefully fruitful) rebuilds, and those that are just pathetic. There are a lot of those teams, let's be real. This episode is an annual autopsy of the gruesome, the vile, and the outright hilarious. The downfalls of many, the stepbacks, and potential hopes and prayers for the future. Their coaches and executives fallen to the axe. The new blood in to try and turn things around. The long-decrepit pretending that nothing's wrong. Plotting and scheming for a busy offseason and draft.Get ready, this one's a doozy.

Everyone in Buffalo has fallen to the drink, yet there isn't anywhere close to enough of it to drown out the pain that's consumed them all whole. What happened in Denver was quite the way to lose. Nobody circles the wagons of futility like the Buffalo Bills.And that's not getting into what happened to the Broncos, either. Brutal.

What a complete waste of talent. Something that most of us could see coming from a mile away happened: Philly's offense (once again) shit the bed due to terrible playcalling and coaching (thank you, Patullo and Sirianni) as the defense is unable to bail them out at every turn (and they try). AJ Brown drops everything in sight as people will (hopefully) be getting fired for this mess of a season.I just didn't expect it this early. Really? To the injury-riddled Niners defense? Philadelphia will burn to the ground and its completely justified.

This is the kind of loss that destroys franchises. Green Bay completely collapsed with an 18-point lead to surrender 25 points and rip hearts out everywhere. Not only that, but they did it against one of their most hated rivals. And it happened twice in the span of a month. Abearica rises and talks endless shit against hated brother to the north, and all Green Bay has to blame are themselves. Even with the injuries, this is inexcusable.Brandon McManus, get the hell out. Matt LaFleur, you should go too.

Did you seriously expect this to be a dull January? With the chaos and unpredictability that this NFL season brought us? Of course most of the game on the docket were contests to the bitter end (emphasis on most). Anything less would've simply been anti-climactic. Fourteen teams entered the fray, yet only two remain: The New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. Ironic how in all of this madness, the Patriots reclaim the AFC crown. So much for a new face...This episode is both in remembrance to all those that choked everything away or came up short. It's also in preparation to the festivities that are about to begin in a week's time. Good luck to all participating parties: They will most certainly need it in San Francisco.
