Happy New Year!

We know it's not been so far, but the greeting is traditional!

This week we look back over the matches from the festive period - God help us - as the show turns into peer to peer self therapy, and we look ahead to this weekend's match against Hearts at Pittodrie.

We're with Aberdeen FC Under 18s and Aberdeen Women as the resumption of their respective campaigns are due to kick off (weather permitting).

Plus, there's the latest from Cove, Peterhead, the Highland League and Juniors and some tennis this week too.

As always, Pittodrie PS features expert analysis and contribution from Dave Macdermid and Andrew Shinie and is hosted by John Mellis.

Well, this is unusual - reporting on a loss! This week we look back over the Dons defeat to St Mirren in Paisley and ahead to battling both the Edinburgh teams this week - Hibs, this evening, and Hearts on Sunday.

There's the latest from the Aberdeen FC Women as well as Cove Rangers, Peterhead, The Highland League and Juniors, (the women aside) all of which could be summed up inside two minutes because they were postponed due to the weather.

What will it take for football to behave sensibly and with more than a fleeting thought for the safety of travelling fans in conditions such as those experienced this past weekend? We discuss.

This week we look back at The Dons V The Dee, a match which ended 4-1 for Aberdeen, but you'd have got fairly long odds on that outcome at half time!

And we look ahead to our next match after the international break, away to St Mirren.

There's the latest from Aberdeen FC Women as Scott Booth assesses the size of the task ahead of him, Under 19 UEFA Youth League action, and we're down the divisions and across the country following Cove Rangers, Peterhead, The Highland League and Juniors.
