[Last week, County commissioners approved $400,000 for computer and digital security upgrades after that online attack that threw a wrench in the county's operations. They're expected to ratify those measures today. The Observer-Reporter reports - that's not all of the money they're parting with. Commissioners will also reportedly pay a ransom. Though an exact amount isn't known, it's believed to be around $200,000. Some are raising questions about the county's transparency in the process. The initial meeting to approve those security upgrades was held without public notice and was not accessible to the public as is typical. ]

A woman accidentally shot herself last night in the Strip District. Police and EMS were called to Cheerleaders in the 3100 block of Liberty Avenue around 7:30 p.m. The 21-year-old woman who works at Cheerleaders told officers she was going through her bag in the ladies room when her gun went off, wounding her in the thigh. She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

A 24-year-old man is dead after a stabbing in Fayette County. It happened in Ronco in the area of Hilltop Lane just before midnight. Troopers say they found Shawn Hriscisce [risk seize] dead on the porch of a home. State Police are expected to hold a news conference about the fatal stabbing later today.
