Pittsburgh Steelers Podcast | Steel City Underground

Brian Roach is joined by Zach Metkler as the two discuss the crazy NFL weekend, and specifically the Steelers dissapointing loss to the Bears. Zach and Brian look at the patterns of the past few seasons and find a lot of similarities that might have predicted this game.

Then the conversations turns to the outpouring of anger from a fan base that has been spoiled by success. All that and the fact that the refs stink. They just stink.

Brian Roach is joined by SCU contributor Josh Fitzer as the two attempt to find out just what the heck happened in Chicago.

Was it more of the same "playing down to road teams" narrative that we always hear? Or was there more to it?

And what can be said about the remaining games on the schedule? Are their bright spots to be found in this loss or was it just a total mess?

Joe Kuzma comes out of hibernation like a sleeping bear (get it?) to join podcasting "iron man" Brian Roach on today's show. The pair will talk about linebackers, both current and former Steelers, who are making headlines this week (and each for different reasons) while also examining this weekend's opponent, the Chicago Bears.

Brian Roach invites Nicholas Moreano and Brandon Hazlett from Da Bears Brothers to the show. Da Bears Brothers, as the name implies, is a website and podcast much like SCU, except they cover the Steelers upcoming opponent, the Chicago Bears.

Tune in as the round table talks about former Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton, moving up in the draft to pick Mitchell Trubisky (and if he should be starting), plus the status of the Bears backfield, if their offensive line can contain Pittsburgh's pass rush and whether or not the Steelers might look down on their opponent, as is the criticism when going on the road against teams with losing records.

You can follow Da Bears Brothers on Twitter at https://twitter.com/DaBearsBros and visit their site at http://dabearsbros.com.

For the first time ever, Brian joins Terry on the SCU Podcast to talk about the "WTF" moments of Week 2, and some gag gifts given to the "host who doesn't like toast".

For Steelers fans, there were a number of in-game head-scratchers, but there were other happenings from around the league which are worth talking about, including a snoozefest from Thursday night, and a meh effort from a superstar player that's making headlines. (And more and more, but you already knew that, so tune in!)

Brian explains to the Steelers faithful that a 100-0 victory or a 3-0 victory is still a victory, as Pittsburgh cruised past the Minnesota Vikings 26-9 on Sunday. The win put the Steelers at 2-0, which is an important start for the season. Brian will tell us why, as well as go into detail on what was good, and what can be improved upon coming out of the win.

Brian Roach invites Christopher Gates from SB Nation's Daily Norseman, a site which covers the Minnesota Vikings, to today's show for an opponent's perspective of this weekend's Steelers/Vikings game. Each offers their view on what strengths and weaknesses for their respective teams, plus updates on potential injuries if Sam Bradford and the Vikings offensive line is "for real" this season, and what key matchups will determine the victor.

We welcome back former Florida State Seminole and two-time Super Bowl champion (XL, XLIII) with the Pittsburgh Steelers Bryant McFadden, as the former cornerback talks about the changes in the Steelers secondary since he last joined us during training camp.

We also breakdown Joe Haden's performance against the Browns last Sunday, and why the Steelers are "all in" with playing more press coverage this season.

Bryant also shares his thoughts on Le'Veon Bell's new "job", his involvement with an online football community where actual players will lead discussion and debate with NFL fans, without profanity, trolling and bullying. We were fortunate enough to also fit in a bonus question which you won't want to miss!
