  • 23. Should white people have braids?
I tried something new today!! Hey guys, today I had a client on the podcast OMG OMG I’m screaming!! I’m so excited because I’ve always wanted to have a client come on the podcast while doing their hair, and honestly, it was amazing. While braiding, we ended up having a conversation about if white people should have braids, and decided we should do the podcast on it. We shared our opinions, spoke about racial issues regarding hair, hypocrisies, businesses, cultural appropriation, integration within black and white hair culture, wigs, integration between men and women and make up/hair etc. enjoy this podcast Ramblers!!

  • 23. Salon Edition: Should white people braid their hair? ft Natasha

    I'm so excited!!! are you?

hey, welcome to today's episode. I am excited because I took a step, I put into action an idea I've been thinking of for the past few years, and now I can proudly say I have executed it. I finally had a client guest on my podcast, and I am beyond thrilled. for context, I braid hair! Natasha has such a beautiful voice, you cant not listen to her even if you didn't want to. she was born and raised in Ireland, and is from Nigeria too. she currently studies in Poland and overall has a very diverse background. We share our opinions on the original question of if white people should have braids, and cover it from a business standpoint comparing it with other communities. we also compare this topic with the likes of nails and call out our own hypocrisies. We touch on generalization, slightly on interracial dating and she briefly shares her experience as a black girl who grew up in Ireland, which is so different from mine, so I learned a lot. We touch on business ideas in the hair culture within Ireland and how we can better integrate, rather than segregate our businesses. There's a whole lot more, but you will only know if you tune in.

  • 21. Sinqobile on having an identity crisis
Today, I am joined by Sinqobile, who i met in Kenya in 2018! she was born and  raised in Swaziland/Eswatini, lived in England for a few years, in Kenya, schooled in Botswana and is currently in South Africa for university. We share our experiences with traveling from a young age, and how that made us so aware of our differences and others too. Her opinions, outlooks, relationships with people and ways of expressing have changed so much as she kept traveling which is amazing to see. Her relationship with her birth country has also fluctuated so much over the years, and while it has improved drastically, she's still not sure if that's the place she would like to call 'home' at the moment, and honestly, i can relate.
i honestly enjoyed this conversation, and i hope you do too. thank you for listening to Piwe Rambles.

  • 18. SD, conservatism, SA, parenting, trauma, oppression, psychology ft Alex
The title doesn't even cover half of what we spoke about. Alex the girl, is a big spirit. She expresses herself boldly about matters that deeply affect her. how is tax so expensive yet the Majority if the nation doesn't see it? Are the people aware of how much they're silenced? whats the next step forward? are parents aware of the generational trauma they're continuing? will there be any change? these are just a few questions Alex and I touched on. With two different perspectives to look from, patterns are starting to get clearer. Whether you want to learn about the experience of moving to new territories on your own as an aspiring traveler, and the mental adversities you may face or are just interested in politics and even psychology of power you will hopefully never experience, grab you headphones, airpods, earphones and Alexa, and dive into the deep end with us-- hold your breath.
