The father’s love mirrors God’s grace. The father didn’t just take his son back—he gave him a robe, a ring, and shoes, signifying full restoration.

If you’ve drifted from God, He’s not waiting to punish you—He’s waiting to embrace you.

The night before the cross, Jesus faced unimaginable sorrow and anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane. Knowing He would bear the weight of the world’s sin, He fell to the ground in prayer, crying out to the Father, “Not what I will, but what thou wilt.”

His struggle wasn’t just physical—it was the crushing burden of taking on sin and enduring the wrath of God. Yet, through prayer, He found the strength to rise and walk forward in obedience.

In our life, trials will come and the flesh will fail, but God provides the strength needed to stand. The call is clear: trust in Christ, stay spiritually alert, and depend on God rather than our own strength. What’s your price? King Ahab wanted Naboth’s vineyard, but when he couldn’t get his way, he threw a fit like a spoiled child. Naboth, however, remained commitment to God’s law, emphasizing that his refusal to sell the vineyard wasn’t about personal preference but about obedience to God.

Enter Jezebel—ruthless, deceptive, and ready to do whatever it took to get what Ahab wanted. But they forgot one thing… God sees everything.

Compromise might seem easy, but it always comes at a cost. Are you standing firm, or selling out?

Jacob wrestled with God. Jacob was used to relying on himself. He was strong and had always figured out how to handle the various situations he was in. However, God would challenge his self-reliance and bring Jacob to the place of making the choice to live by faith and trust in God and His provision and protection.

Self-reliance is a weakness we all struggle with. True faith requires that we relinquish control and allow God to weaken our self-reliance so we can be strong in faith.

Faith means trusting God to work things out rather than striving in one's own power.

This message coming from 1 Kings 20, examines God's dealings with King Ahab and Behadad, the king of Syria. God repeatedly revealed His power to Israel, even extending mercy to the wicked King Ahab. Despite Ahab’s failures, God promised victory over Syria to prove He alone is the Lord.

Israel, vastly outnumbered, defeated the Syrians as God demonstrated His power over all circumstances. However, instead of fully obeying God, Ahab spared Behadad, leading to God’s judgment upon him.

The challenge for believers is to trust God fully, reject compromise, and remain faithful in obedience.

Two men went into the temple to pray: one, a Pharisee who appeared outwardly religious, and the other, a publican often viewed as a thief. The Pharisee prayed pridefully, exalting himself and comparing his righteousness to the publican’s shortcomings.

In contrast, the publican humbly acknowledged his sinfulness, crying out to God for mercy. Only the one who humbled himself before God left the temple justified.

Likewise, we must resist the temptation to measure ourselves by others or our own standards of righteousness; instead, we must measure ourselves by God’s Word, which reveals that none of us are righteous and all are in need of forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

As Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples for the final time, He explained the significance of each element—a familiar explanation they had heard many times before. This time, however, Jesus revealed a deeper meaning: the Passover lamb symbolized Himself, and the meal pointed to His impending death on the cross. His body would be broken body and his blood shed to provide salvation for all those who put their faith in Him. The Passover meal, once a remembrance of Israel's deliverance, would now serve as a memorial of Jesus’ sacrifice to take the punishment for sin.

In this message we look at the downfall King Ahab and Jezebel, whose idolatry and promotion of Baal worship provoked God's judgment through a devastating drought. The prophet Elijah boldly confronted their wickedness, challenging the people of Israel on Mount Carmel to choose between serving the Lord or Baal. Through a miraculous display of fire from heaven, God demonstrated His power and called the nation to repentance. Despite Israel's rebellion, the message emphasizes God's mercy and patience, always seeking to restore His people and turn their hearts back to Him.
