  • E11 - Reddit: "Oh My God, My Life Is Perfect" Discussion

What does it truly mean to have a perfect life?

In this episode, I talk about about a video on Reddit of a guy still feeling the affects of anaesthesia after waking up from complex dental surgery. A premise that on surface level seems like decent entertainment to watch, but deeper down has a much more important and wholesome message.

Discussions in this episode include why the video is so entertaining to watch and enjoy, the difference between episodic and semantic memory and the purity of the unintentional message behind the recording.

  • E10 - The Ick: Legit Reasoning or Unfair Dismissal?

'The ick' is a blanket term for that feeling which is usually brought on by a very small, but very specific thing - usually a quality, habit, or event that repels you from the object of your desire; sometimes for good.

Are 'icks' a valid and legit reason to cut ties with a potential partner, or are narrowminded capabilities and rigid ways bringing up a new method to unfairly dismiss a feasible partner?

Topics in this conversation include the psychology behind 'the ick', the legitimacy behind 'the ick', examples of 'icks' and how I rate them (valid or unfair) and how the ick can be viewed as a legit warning sign for danger ahead.
