Micheal Ulch, founder PilotLife, found himself isolated from a greater pilot community. As a technologist, Micheal saw the need for an easy to use app designed for pilots to record their flights, add photos on the fly and share them with a virtual pilot community. PilotLife was borne out of this need to share and build a community. Now available on iPhone and Android devices, Michael discusses his journey to deliver this truly collaborative technology.

What could be better than a Digital Journey Logbook. Recorded at WINGs Magazine’s General Aviation Expo in Burlington ON, Christopher VanHorn, Founder Airbly Inc, discusses this unique technology which creates a digital journey logbook and much more. Using a two way messaging satellite network, a battery powered messaging device, crew keyfobs, the web and an app, the Airbly system creates digital flight records without any interaction by the aircrew. Christopher discusses his journey to create Airbly and the future of this innovative technology.

Recorded at AirVenture 2024, legendary aerobatics pilot Sean D. Tucker discusses his journey to the pinnacle of aerobatics flight. His mentor, aerobatics, test and fighter pilot, Bob Hoover took Sean under his wings, guiding Sean through is career. Giving back, Sean was instrumental in creating the Bob Hoover Academy, using the power of flight to change lives. The Academy focuses on under privileged youth living in a gang infested area of Salinas CA. Sean relives his life experiences recounting chilling events changing his kids lives. Creating a program with a team of dedicated professionals, youths are able to navigate their life journey onto a new pathway, taking them out of an environment of poverty, drugs and violence. Sean believes that we must counter the depth of trauma with the height of inspiration for the kids who need it the most. Every Kid Can Fly was born with an initial offering of flight training after school for students at Rancho Cielo (a local alternative high school program).

Recorded at Piper Aircraft’s pavilion at AirVenture 2024, Isaac Capua of Aviation Unlimited, Piper Aircraft’s Canadian dealer discusses all things Piper Fury (M700). Isaac discusses the technology behind the Fury and Aviation Unlimited sales strategy taking first time aircraft owners down a journey leading to turbine aircraft.

Alberto Porto and Andrea Venturini did the unthinkable. In 2024 they flew nonstop from Scotland to Canada in a two seat, Rotax powered Risen SuperVeloce aircraft. Flying 1,850 nm, in 11.5 hours and used 43 gallons of fuel. Andrea recounts this epic flight, recorded in Porto Aviation’s pavilion at AirVenture 2024. An amazing feat of planning, endurance and a testament to the aeronautical designs of Alberto Porto and his team.
