These can play havoc when trying to build an evening reception, we explain why. Should you consider playing party games at your reception? Does Karaoke still work? For the couple and guests alike the evening reception is the part where you let your hair down, do away with tradition, have a few drinks and enjoy yourself.

This is where the Photo Booth or Selfie-Mirror come into their own. After the speeches your day guests will be mingling, catching up and taking in the big day. Then your evening guests will start to arrive and suddenly your wedding becomes one big reunion. All your guests will want to share and look back on those memories. Having their photo taken in the Photo Booth or Selfie-Mirror and then afterwards pinning it on their fridge will serve as a constant reminder of your big day.

Hiring a band is deemed to be expensive, but you get a lot for your money. Your guests will be entertained by live music. Which for me (even though I'm a DJ) there is nothing better. I love band music.

As a DJ I have worked alongside many great bands, in doing so there is a lot which needs to be prepared beforehand. Again this is something we discuss.

Getting married is incredibly expensive. The average wedding in the UK for 2019 was £32,000 with 40% of couples going over budget. With this in mind you can see why couples need to save money, it's knowing what to save money on. What is essential and what isn't?

In this episode Rob and I discuss hiring a non-professional friend or relative to DJ at your wedding and why this can be a bad idea. Why a smaller wedding at a village hall or community centre shouldn't be considered any less of an occasion and why your wedding should be about what you want rather than the wants of others.

When couples picture their evening reception they picture a room full of guests dancing, sadly in reality this isn't always the case.

I’ll give you a common scenario it’s a hot evening in July, most of your guests are outside, the bar is in a different room and you have a Selfie-Mirror which is in a separate room. How many people are dancing? Not many.
