Pippa Hackett, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, joined Mark Gibson on this week's podcast version of the Signpost Series webinar to officially launch Hedgerow Week 2021, which took place from 3 -10 December.

Professor Frank O'Mara, Teagasc Director, also joined the webinar to welcome the involvement of a wide range of organisations and interested stakeholders to address this important issue.

Catherine Keena, Teagasc Countryside Management Specialist discussed the subject of planting hedges, which is currently being undertaken by farmers in REAP, the NPWS Farm Plan scheme and many EIPs.

A questions and answers session took place at the end of the webinar, which was facilitated by Pat Murphy, Head of Environment Knowledge Transfer Department, Teagasc.
