  • Dr. Paul Wood — SMALL STEPS make HUGE CHANGES

Dr. Paul Wood is someone who works on getting the little stuff right in life. On the day we recorded the podcast, Paul was trying to solve a huge problem - how to find and replace his family's broken fridge before all the food spoils?

Might seem like a small thing but as we talk about in this podcast, it’s the small things in life that all add up to make the big things work.

The lesson is, Paul Wood is just like you and me when it comes to day to day life BUT unlike most of us, Paul has stared directly into the darkness of life and on his return now offers his time sharing those lessons and learnings so we can take on those learnings to ultimately live more meaningful, hopeful lives.

Dr. Paul Wood opens up and goes deep on the podcast by sharing his experience on living a life of adventure and taking the path of the unknown and trusting that you’ll find your way home even if you get lost along the way.

  • GOING DEEPER — FIGHTING the DRAGON SLAYER

Are we all being forced to become Dragonslayers? In this edition of GOING DEEPER, I zoom in on a podcast conversation that I had with Jimi Hunt about the learnings he gained around his need to fight for something.

Jimi explained to me, after returning from a five-hour psychedelic mushroom adventure that included a fight a giant Anaconda, that the revelation from this experience was to... STOP FIGHTING.

Is anyone in our modern world encouraging to stop fighting or is society today selecting for more of us to be dragon slayers?  And has anyone asked what happens when there are no more dragons to fight and what a world with no dragons even looks like? A scary thought is what all the Dragonslayers do in their pursuit of smaller and smaller dragons until finally, they are just swinging a razor-sharp sword through thin air?

    It's time to GO DEEP!

  • GOING DEEPER — Bystander Effect

Every week I go deep with my guests on the podcast with conversations that allow us to travel to the edge of our own understanding and back again. Sometimes it takes days for those lessons to sink into my brain so I’ve decided to start an offshoot series called GOING DEEPER with the goal of further analysing the lessons and ideas that I’m taking in during these mind-blowing conversations. In this episode of GOING DEEPER, I reflect on my learnings around the bystander effect and what I did to not freeze up with fear in three very real word scenarios.

  • Joseph Fa'afiu — Why we ALL need to have HOPE

Joseph Fa’afiu wears many hats: Pastor, Community Leader, Storyteller, Family Man and so much more. One of hats or T-Shirts that Joseph also wears is one for HopeWalk. Joseph founded the grassroots suicide awareness and prevention movement called HopeWalk which leads walks globally in NZ, Australia, USA, Canada and the South Pacific all in the name suicide prevention. This year, in 2019 New Zealand has reached its highest-ever level, with 685 people giving up hope leaving all of us left behind thinking 'what the hell is going on?' and ‘What can I do?’

Will Fleming joins Joseph Fa’afiu on a very early brisk morning of 2019's South Auckland HopeWalk to have coffee, have a hug and a yarn about how something so dark like suicide can bring us together and reveal the light buried deep within each one of us.

  • Daryl Habraken — A VOICE of REASON in SCARY TIMES

We are often told to ‘speak up’ and ‘use our voice’ but for many of us, the reality is that we spend way more time articulating ourselves in the digital realm instead of real-life and as we are finding out, not communicating is having catastrophic consequences in our modern world. Daryl Habraken uses his voice as a tool, as his instrument, he uses his voice for a living and in my opinion is one of the best people to talk to about the complicated society that we live in today. In scary times maybe the best people to listen to are the people that talk for a living.
