This week the US moved to sanction what's believed to be Indonesia's most dangerous terrorist organisation as concern continues to grow over the threat of Islamic State in Southeast Asia. The US State Department has named the little known group JAD as a terrorist organisation and has also pinpointed two Indonesian militants behind the terrorist attack in Jakarta almost a year ago. The fallout from the explosive, unverified intelligence dossier which claims Russia has gathered compromising information on president elect Donald Trump continues to reverberate around the world, days out from his inauguration. • Donald Trump's feud with spy agencies escalating
Donald Trump has hit back against the claims in the unverified intelligence dossier released yesterday, including the claims of his ties with Russia, labelling the file 'fake news' by 'sick people'. The President-elect also used part of his high profile news conference to detail how he would separate his wide-ranging business dealings from his duties as president. Experts say the US is now in unchartered waters on both counts, in terms of the ethics of Donald Trump's continued links to his global business empire, and his escalating feud with the intelligence community.
