On the latest PM-Podcast, we’re talking digital railways, nerve centres, customer experience, and notably, a moment in Australian transport history.
Our guests today are Tony Eid, Executive Director, Future Delivery Networks at Sydney Trains, and Geoff Howard, Programme Director, Rail Operations Centre, or ROC as it’s known, at Sydney Trains.
If you’ve been living under a rock (pardon the pun), you may not have noticed that Sydney Trains unveiled a piece of transport history with the launch of its own ROC, a $276 million next generation Rail Operations Centre, a large component of its move towards becoming a digital railway.
The ROC is a state-of-the-art 24x7 facility that sets up Sydney’s rail network for the next century, in order to support growth in passenger numbers from anticipated population growth.
Tony and Geoff take us on the journey of how the ROC came to be today - it's an incredible story. We hope you enjoy this podcast just as much as we enjoyed recording it.
