STRATEGY PANEL: PM TRUDEAU HEADS TO EUROPE TO MEET WITH ALLIES ON UKRAINE

Jane Brown is filling in for Libby Znaimer today. She is joined by Karen Stintz, CEO of Variety Village, John Capobianco, Senior Vice President & Senior Partner, FleishmanHillard HighRoad,  and Charles Sousa, the former Minister of Finance for Ontario and MPP for Mississauga South.

This week: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau headed off to Europe to meet with allies over talks on the situation in Ukraine. Yesterday, he met with British PM and Prime Minister of Netherlands Mark Rutte to discuss providing with Ukrainians with more aid. And, as Canada continues to commit to sending both lethal and non-lethal aid to the country, it is also continuing its campaign of sanctions on a selection of key Russian oligarchs and other individuals including Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Russian television news network RT. So, just how effective is Canada's response to Putin's unprovoked war so far?

Meanwhile, today marks International Womens Day. What we want to discuss are Canada's prominent female political leaders both past and present. We ask each of the panelists who they admire most and Karen, who was a popular Toronto City Councillor, shares the lessons she learned in leadership in public life.

We continue the discussion about International Womens Day. Bonnie understands what it means to be a bold woman leader in public life. As the Mayor of Mississauga, she has shown true leadership in navigating one of Canada's largest cities through a pandemic. She also reflects on the legacy of her predecessor, former Mississauga mayor "Hurricane" Hazel McCallion  who lead the city from 1978 until 2014!

Jane Brown is joined by Roman Waschuk, who is the former Canadian ambassador to Ukraine.

Roman weighs in on the latest in Ukraine and discusses Canada's response to Russia thus far. He also shares his journey from Kyiv to Krakow, Poland when the invasion began.
