Joy Gilfilen with Guest: Irene Morgan about Vision, Programs & ReStoreALife Center
This is a fresh, compassionate and practical look at how we could do more justice by solving the human problems that complicate recovery after an incident throws a family into the jail, court and justice system and they cannot get out by themselves. It’s complex and unwieldy, as Irene Morgan, the Founder of the Restorative Community Coalition explains in this call.
The RestoreALife Center strategy is all about creating an emergency safety net to help people who are dealing with trauma while they are floundering through the multi-layered and unfamiliar legal, court and justice systems. The Coalition has developed a common-sense approach; to provide critical shelter, basic literacy and simple education needed to do work that allows people to restore their dignity and provides a pathway to get people back into the mainstream of life ASAP.
Come and learn what Irene has discovered – why some people cannot get through the barriers to reentry alone. Learn what it takes to be a bridge for solving problems with people, calmly doing restorative justice work in many situations. She has built reentry, recovery and reconciliation tools and developed programs that are customized to fit people’s needs from the ground up in community.
