Since the time of social media has risen, the sharks prey on the uneducated and that only weakens the creditability of hard working coaches, personal trainers, nutritionists and such. I mean you have a person that looks like they know what they are talking about, points out some facts that are believable and even offers his/her services for free for X amount of time (usually 30-60 days)
Because of the influencers marketing skills so many people are creating an unhealthy relationship with their food and themselves through the promise of losing that excess weight or fat in a short period of time. Too many are being mislead to an unbalanced unsustainable eating lifestyle which will lead to mental breakdown or a negative shift in their lifestyle (depression, self worth or anxiety)
I personally did the whole social media for some time but found that the market was saturated with fake shit that the real shit was being drowned out and hard to keep up with the tides, I mean I could of just stuck through it and let it be but it was just becoming way too much to try to stand out with the big boys/girls. Sex sales and unfortunately I don't have the "look" to sell myself to people. But I did however find an angle to thrive off and it was with my current clientele and educate from there.
I mean like, I have a hand full of people that are on a steady schedule that are getting results through my teachings and it's actually gained me more clients through word of mouth (the best type of referral) Though it's a nice feature to have a social media post of all your doings and such but it's very hard to stay afloat with shit coaches, trainers and influencers selling high quality shit at a discount price.
There are so many people feeling entitled of getting results at a short period of time because of what they go through on a daily not knowing the long term commitment not just to your physical self but your mentality on how you live your life. Yes it sucks seeing and knowing being that are genetically gifted at getting results at a short period of time but don't get it twisted that they don't also need to put in the work.
People need to stop being lazy and begin to do their own homework on the things they need help with, like if your hiring someone to help you with your weight loss and need a meal plan (go educate yourself with some basics before forking over 100s of dollars with a cookie cutter program you can get yourself on the internet for free) and same goes with a workout plan.
I make sure that people who hire me understand they that are hiring me for accountability - that's what any good coach, trainer and such should be about, yes there would be new certain information you can learn but it's knowing how and when to use those teachings accordingly to make it beneficial - cause honestly the information you get anywhere is literally at your finger tips in a matter of seconds (the internet).
Let me remind you that my personal experiences, continues google/YouTube/books education and years in the industry has given me the opportunity to change a lot of lives for the better and having them to sustain it gives me great pleasure to what I do for a living.
