This episode concludes our discussion of The Cure and this Pod Like a Hole season by analyzing the album Disintegration. Do we end the season on a sour note, or do we find ourselves whisked away to a world of wind chimes and thunderclouds rumbling in the distance?
Just like one of the themes of the record, everything must come to an end. We thank you, faithful listeners, for following us as we talked for countless hours about our favorite music, artists, and bands in what felt, at times, a neverending project. We ain’t quite dead yet though. Stay tuned.
All good things…

Pod Like A Hole discusses Stevie Wonders' Songs In The Key of Life. The hosts touch on his other amazing 70s albums, the Wonder of Stevie Wonder, the TV Show the Curse, Weird Al, Wild Wild West, and review Sides A and B of the album - track by track.
Join us next time for side B and C. Followed by our final Podcasts that will cover Robert Smith's the Cure.
On the 4th of July 2024, Pod Like A Hole is celebrating by uploading our discussion of Willie Nelson's The Red Headed Stranger.
This concept album is a Sunday morning favorite in one of the hosts homes, and the boys seem to all agree that it's status as an All American Classic is no fluke. Willie bet on himself (and the talents of his sister Bobbi Nelson) and hit big.
This is the 2nd and final episode in our Willie Nelson series. Remaining artists in this final season of Pod Like A Hole are Stevie Wonder and the Cure. In that order.
Willie Nelson is many things: a lover, a traveler, a Texan, a guitar player, smoker, outlaw, hero, poet, fashion icon, actor, activist, philanthropist, gunslinger, wiseacre, animal lover, brother, father, husband (four times over), Hellraiser, braids and beard enthusiast, but most of all Willie is a friend to all.
In this episode of Pod Like A Hole the hosts discuss the life and times of WIllie Nelson. His brushes with the leaf and the law, his multiple wives, his work as a public servant to the people and animals of America, his collaborations that cross genres and his work with the other Outlaw Country Heroes, and how he manages to be a man that for 91 years and counting is still making music and along the way has become a friend to almost everyone in every walk of life.
We find time to touch on 10 or so of his standout albums (couldn't get to all 100+ of his records), and in the next episode we will dedicate the recording to his masterpiece: The Red Headed Stranger.
WE'VE GOT BATS IN OUR BELFRY!!!!! Grey would be the colour if we only had a way to colour-coat episodes. It's Goth Month here on Pod Like a Hole, so get out your choker, get your eyeliner, and pick a safeword , we are covering Siouxsie and the Banshees and it is getting DARK.
It is Intern Eric's final pick of the season, and does he go out with a bang or a whimper? You be the judge. It's the 1980 record that brought Siouxsie to a new level of rock. Listen as your boys pick apart the ground breaking licks from John McGeouch, basslines from Steve Severin, and poundings from Budgie. And vamping up front, is the true queen of the dungeon, Siouxsie Sioux. Your hosts go into the history of the band, discuss at what point post-punk became goth, and how inspirational this band ended up being. Then its a track by track review of Juju.
It's a whole episode of pain and pleasure. The bitter and the sweet.
Enjoy.

Washing upon the beach of your shipwrecked life is another episode of Pod Like a Hole. The first of 3 episodes dedicated to the mighty Mastodon of the south.
Episode 1 (this episode) we cover the band's formation, the 4 members of this band, and the bulk of the discussion is the influences and peers that helped shape their sound. If you are a fan of ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Neurosis, Melvins, High on Fire, and even the Seattle scene of the 90s there is something here for you.
Episode 2 will be a gushing discussion of their discography at a macro level, and Episode 3 will be a track by tack review of Emperor of Sand at a micro level.
