The gang's all here for another edition of Pod On Lansdowne--after a frustrating (but not demoralizing) week of baseball.

The Boston Red Sox bullpen needs to seriously be addressed, but the pitching staff will be poised to get a boost from a top prospect: welcome to the Brayan Bello era!

Bobby Dalbec kinda stinks, huh?? WELLLLLLLLL,,,,,,,,not according to [NAME AND ADDRESS WITHHELD], who joined the program this week to defend his honor...and attack the honor of another player on the team who's name rhymes with Karren Moran.

We were pleased to welcome friend of the program Ben Porter (Twitter @Ben13Porter) onto the program this week! We just sorta riffed about awesome baseball slang, nicknames, and phrases for an hour. Baseball's got great terminology--we wanted to celebrate that on the show. There may or may not have been a lot of talk about regions south of the belt, you'll have to tune in and find out for yourself.

BUT FIRST: The Red Sox are on a roll! We--including our international correspondent Jake--dived into their recent sweeps of the Tigers and Guardians, how the team can keep up their hot streak as they enter a challenging stretch of games to wrap up the first half of the season, and more.

We also took a peak at some potential trade ideas that have been thrown around, and who the Red Sox might make a move for come deadline day.

Technical difficulties and beach trips couldn't stop the fellas from riffing on the pod this week.

The Red Sox have been great in June, but we braced ourselves for a doozy of a stretch coming up as we approach the All-Star break. If they're gonna stay in the hunt--and we hate to sound like a broken record--then they're gonna have to address the bullpen, man.

ALSO: Jeter Downs got called up--that's fun! Nick Pivetta is still slicing on the mound--that's even more fun!

As you could expect, we also had our regularly scheduled malarkey this week. Tangents include talk about muppets, potentially preventable celebrity deaths, and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. The latter topic there got exceptionally hot--there would've been bloodshed had this recording not been done over Al Gore's internets.

In a shocking turn of events, one Jake Wallinger has been resurrected following his tragic cartoon train incident last week--so, back to three (3) co-hosts talking about the Boston Red Sox!

The Sox are, as I type this, now above .500 (thanks Michael Wacha!). We recorded this when they were simply at the .500 mark; sorry we can't look into the future.

What we can do, however, is tell you how awesome Franchy Cordero and how awful the LA Angels have been recently, what we think the future of Jarren Duran in Boston will pan out, and more delightful baseball talk.

We also went over the funniest moments from President Number 45 (abhorrent ideologies aside) and riffed about Goodfellas for nearly a half-hour or so. Typical POL stuff, folks.

The Boston Red Sox had to go 14-5 over the course of 19 games leading up to Memorial Day, and they only went 13-6. As a result: a comically large train has ran into Jake and sent him into the stratosphere, like he was Wile E. Coyote.

Thankfully, Fitz and Liam were able to pick up the slack and discuss another week that was in Beantown baseball. A weird week it was--the offense was highlighted by complete performances from the top of the lineup all the way down, but the lows of the bullpen appeared once more. The Sox are just a few games back of a wild card spot, so how do we feel as we head into June?

They just might be! After a fantastic week of Red Sox baseball--filled with complete games, grand slams, and fun times being had by all--we took some time to reflect on a team that hopefully looks to be turning a corner.

Thank the baseball gods: we do not have an absolutely miserable week of Red Sox baseball to recap!

We had some highs and lows in the world of our beloved Stockings--encouraging wins and back-breaking losses. The latter mainly has to do with one person. We won't fully spoiler who it is, but we can give you a hint: their name starts with an R and ends with a yan Brasier.

But hey, the offense has been more encouraging! Franchy! Story! Raf! The whole gang!

This episode could only be described as a roller-coaster of emotions.

We began with the lows of the lows: breaking down a horrible stretch of games for the Boston Red Sox which saw them finish 1-5 in their last 6 games. No bueno, right?

The offense had been stinky, the pitching situation seemingly gets messier and messier by the day, it's just a giant kerfuffle.

But sometimes, all it takes is some beard shaving talk and a couple of runs in Atlanta to convince you that the Red Sox will run the table through Memorial Day--nay, through the rest of the season.

In between our highs and lows about the play on the field for the Red Sox, we talked about:
