We recorded this episode before our beloved boys in green swept the Brooklyn Nets, but honestly? We--the basketball knowledge-havers--knew it was gonna happen anyways.

We talked about how much we love shooty hoops, how awesome Rob Williams is, and how much fun Jake had on his 23rd birthday. The start of his Jordan year, if you will! That's a little shoutout to everybody else who knows hoops, like us.

It's both a Patriots' Day and an international edition of Pod on Lansdowne!

John McGee with the British-based Bat Flips and Nerds podcast and blog joined us American yankees (original meaning of the term, not the baseball-related one) to talk some Red Sox, MLB followings in England, and direct comparisons to MLB and British soccer teams. The typical three amigos also talked about those Sox, who had a hot-and-cold week against Detroit and Minnesota. We went into hot stars from Alex Verdugo and Michael Wacha, potential lineup shakeups, and more. It's a marathon-length episode of Pod On Lansdowne as we approach Opening Day 2K22!

This week, we dove into the Red Sox outfield corps. What can we expect for this fresh season that lies before us? I sure hope they're all stellar, don't you? We talked about Verdugo, JBJ, our pal Enrique, things of that nature.

Throughout the show, we were also joined by a few guests for our AL East preview series! Friend of the program Jordan Katz (@NaturallyKatz11 on Twitter) was welcomed on to talk about his beloved Baltimore Orioles (the Red Sox can't have Adley Rutschman guys. Sorry; I tried to get him to budge).

Later, we were pleased to be joined by Emily Nyman (@EmSheDoesIt on Twitter) of the Breaking Balls Pod to discuss the New York Yankees. We screamed at each other for 20 minutes and threatened to take the other's life, just like real rivals should!

In all seriousness, thank you to both Jordan and Emily for taking the time to come on the show and talk about their favorite teams!

We wrap up the show with some MLB MVP predictions. Pretty straightforward stuff: I will get all of mine correct, while Jake and Liam will not. Simple as that!

A lot went down on this episode: trades were discussed, free agency signings were assessed, non sequiturs were had.

The 2021 Red Sox were fun. Watching them lose was not. We talked about why that happened and how that can be fixed in 2022. Makes sense, right?

Should Boston sign Carlos Correa? Seiya Suzuki? You, the listener? Speak for yourself, but we had some takes about the first two.

Since it's a Red Sox podcast without any Red Sox baseball on the horizon, we had to yell about who's fault that is as CBA negotiations continue: Rob Manfred and the owners. We also ran down some proposed rule changes on the field.
