PodCapers

Hold on to your hats people this is a big one. Scott is joined by AP2HYC's resident Cosplay Hero to talk about a issue that's becoming more and more relevant in todays cosplay scene: cosplay that is deemed to be "sexy". They discuss various subjects around the issue, the wider impact of sexism in our society, and try to see just how uncomfortable they both can be. Spoiler, it's a lot.

There's murder, mayhem, and mystery afoot this week on Podcapers, as Scott is joined by Cynthia Von Buhler to discuss her excellent graphic novel, Minky Woodcock: The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini. They talk about the appeal of the prohibition era, the nutters that think they can talk to the dead, and get side tracked a lot. And I mean A LOT! Focus Scott! You've got stuff to do!
Check out even more Minky goodness!

Lyndon White returns to the show and it seems like he's living his life like a candle in the wind. Either that or he's working on a brand new graphic novel called Candles. He and Scott have a great 'ol gab fest about it, their favourite fantasy stories, and the nature of developing a graphic novel in todays indie market. Plus, Scott says goodbye to his hero Stan Lee.

With Bumblebee looming over the horizon like the sun chasing away the monstrosities that lurk in the shadows of the night, it makes sense to talk about said monstrosities as a reminder of what happens when you mess up a concept as simple as Transformers. Aided by Transformers megafan Mark Russell, Scott is going to try and find out where exactly the Bayformers saga went wrong. Aside from being made in the first place that is.

That's right - we've only just gone and made another musical!
A Place To Hang Your Cape is celebrating its 8th anniversary with a brand-new musical on its podcast, PodCapers.  "Scottpoint", a sequel to last year's "Scott's Adventures in Disney Land", finds intrepid PodCapers host Scott learning the hard way that nothing good comes from messing with time travel.
During a questionable journey to the past, Scott accidentally sets off a chain of events that puts the entirety of geek fandom in jeopardy. To put things right, Scott must go on a wild adventure through space and time - all set to an "original" Disney-inspired soundtrack.
"Scottpoint" is written, produced, and directed by Scott James Meridew, who also stars in the lead role. Scott's unique voice is sure to entertain in this hilarious new adventure.
Listeners to last year's musical will once again recognise the voices of the AP2HYC Senior Team - David Molofsky, Fred McNamara, Mark Russell, and Kit Horsley.
AP2HYC writer and former Sugar Red Drive lead singer Archit Tripathi is also lending his renowned vocal talents to bring the villainous Hater to life.
Rounding out the cast are friends from our extended #PodernFamily, including The Jock and Nerd Podcast and The Deleted Scene Podcast.
The AP2HYC team have a lot to celebrate this year. Early in the year, we started a new internship program, Capers XP, partnering with several universities to create an opportunity for students and graduates to get real world experience on a digital product. This summer, AP2HYC held its 4th annual TV Awards, which not only had over 14,000 votes from fans around the world, but also had several nominees join in to tweet about the various categories.
And of course, our podcast PodCapers has continued to grow!
While our 8th year may be drawing to a close, we still have some big ideas left for 2018 and beyond.

"Scottpoint" is executive produced by Scott James Meridew, Mark Russell, and David Molofsky. Additional editing by Alexandra Mirabal. Additional music by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com). Cover art by Gavin Mitchell.

The Man Without Fear is back! And what a glorious return! Scott is once again joined by Mark Russell to talk about Matt Murdock once again donning the red sui- what's that? He's back in the black costume? Um, okay. Fine. Point is this season is awesome and these two are going to talk about it. From the return of the Kingpin, to the debut of Bullseye, will this make up for Iron Fist and Luke Cage being cancelled? I don't know, listen to the episode and find out. I can't do all the work for you!

With Young Justice season 3 peeking its head around the corner like a schoolboy up to no good, it only makes sense to talk to one of the brilliant minds behind it...and not talk about the show at all! Yep, instead Scott chats with the illustrious Greg Weisman about his distinguished career. From one of the best things Disney have ever done to one of the best things Marvel have ever done, its an interview more earth shattering than Frost/Nixon! We may be exaggerating a tiny bit.

They are Venom. And Scott is annoyed. Also joined by Mark Russell to talk about Sony's desperate attempt at establishing their own film franchise. Shock of all shocks, it didn't go so well. They talk about the film, the wider implications surrounding it, and just how frustrating todays media climate can be. I'd say there's not a lot of laughs, but it's a Venom review, what were you expecting?

It's time for another comic-con! And this week, David Molofsky and Fred McNamara are off to Thought Bubble! Without Scott. How sad. There's many people to talk to and lots of comics to read, so strap yourselves in Capers, we're in for a wild ride! Without Scott. As he gazes out of his window like a Dickensian orphan. While a tiny violin plays in the distance. Aw.

Scott's comic cup runneth over this week on Podcapers, as he is joined by Neil Gibson of TPub to talk about the multitude of great comics made by them, despite the fact that many of them freak Scott out quite a bit. They discuss, amoung many other things, Twisted Dark (Knight), Stan Lee, and Neil's upcoming comics webinar. Also, as a special treat, the most boring anecdote Scott has! You lucky people!
Check out some of TPub's comics and read Theatrics right now!
