PodCapers

It's been a year since being captured by The Collector and Scott is sure something equally terrible will happen this year. But when his AP2HYC colleagues start disappearing, he knows he must face up to his fears and fight whatever new threat emerges.
Coming this Halloween!

76 episodes later, Scott is rejoined by graphic novel writer Nandor Fox Shaffer for a big ol' gab sesh! Took you two long enough! They talk about his upcoming book SEASONS Vol. 2: Summer, some of the latest pop culture news, and everyone's favourite topic of discussion, moral relativism™! No, we don't know why either. Just listen, we promise it's interesting.

As October is the month of spoooky goings on, Scott is joined by Alex Mirabal to watch one of both of their favourite childhood movies, Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost. Does the sequel to the lauded Zombie Island hold up after 21 years? Or is it dead on arrival? All we know is, The Hex Girls still kick all kinds of arse!

Movie Start - 04:50

Many times on Podcapers, Mark Russell has educated Scott on various well known anime. Well now the turntables......Scott's doing the same to Mark, is what we're getting at. Specifically about Sword Art Online Abridged, a stand out in the Abridged Anime selection as some consider it better than the original. Will Scott convince Mark so? Probably, as Mark doesn't really like the original SAO.

Wow. It's amazing. Disney has reached a brand new low. We didn't think it was possible, but they did it. We'd be impressed if we weren't so utterly disappointed. Scott and Mark Russell hop on the carousel of crappy live action Disney remakes one more time to review the new Mulan movie. But this is not a fun carousel. It's got rusty gears and splintery wooden horses. Bad times ahead, Capers!

Well it's about goddamn time! The long awaited finale to the X-Men franchise is here at last. Going up against that new Christopher Nolan movie. Hmm. I don't like it's chances. Still, it's up to Scott and Mark Russell to decide whether it was worth the wait! The answer: eh, kinda?

Recent events have left us all incredibly saddened, but it's important to remember to never give up hope, to never stop fighting for equality, and to always remember:
"In times of crisis, the wise build bridges while the foolish build barriers."

God, that's a long title. But in fairness, there's a lot to cover in this week's PodCapers. Scott couldn't choose between reviewing Netflix's newest superhero movie and talking about the new DC FanDome reveals, so he just said "screw it" and did both. Thank god AP2HYC writer Michael McCabe is here to help him out. Good luck Michael, you're gonna need it!

Another day, another outstanding anthology! Scott is joined by Russell Mark Olsen and Mark Hughes, a.k.a. SoK, to talk about their upcoming comics magazine SKRAWL, featuring stories from the best of the best UK indie comic writers and artists, many of whom we've discussed on Podcapers before! Strap in Capers, we're going on a Pub SKRAWL! Eh? Eh? Oh come on, that was funny!
Take a gander at Russell and Mark's work, as well as SKRAWL's Kickstarter! And if you can, please donate and support Little Heroes.

Yes, we're really doing this. No, we don't care that everyone else has already talked about this movie. I mean, come on people, it's BIRDEMIC! Possibly the worst movie every made. And Scott has invited Jillian to join him in riffing this monstrosity. But guess what? You can too! Just play the movie when Scott tells you to and we can all share in the suffering! Yay!
