So today's episode, we are going to go on the, choose your podcast adventure, because I believe every single entrepreneur should have a podcast strategy and. Today, we're going to go on an adventure to figure out what strategy is best for you and your business. Are you ready? Hold onto your hats and let's dig in. Welcome to the podcast about podcasting, where you guessed it. We're talking all things podcasting, whether you are just ready to launch your show, or maybe you're a seasoned podcast. Ready to grow and monetize. This podcast is for you. We have talking about the strategy, but beyond that, the mindset it takes to grow a massively successful podcast in this day and age. So if you are ready to take your podcast to the next level of making big bucks, you're coming to the right place. I'm your host, Jen dragon met. So let's dig in. So why do I call it choosing your podcasting adventure? Because the same strategy is not made for every single person for every single business. Maybe it depends on the amount of time you have or the type of business. Although I believe any type of business can benefit from a podcast. It really comes down to your time, your commitment and your outcome and your goals. So the first thing we want to talk about are, what are your goals for having a podcast? Do you want that instant authority? Do you want to take the time and establish your own brand on a podcast? Or are you trying to establish your expertise by just showing up on someone's podcast? So those are the two strategies we're going to talk about. Well, three, technically, because there is one be your own host to be an amazing profitable guest expert or three. Be both, which is what I do. I love both, but I make the time for both because podcasting is a huge part of my strategy. Let's be honest. It's 95% of my business. Yes. You heard that 95% of my business and my profits come from my podcast. So as we're going into this, I am want you to talk about and figure out and actually take a piece of paper out and figure out what your, why is for starting a podcast. The first thing I have to say is podcasting is easy. Yes, it is easy. However, if you're going to have exit successful podcast, it takes time. It takes effort. There are strategies to make things easier. And as your friendly manifesting generator who loves skipping steps, I can get you from a to Z without having to do all the letters in between However, there are a few things that I want you to know when you are deciding to start hosting a podcast, it is a commitment, just like any other platform. It's a commitment. But the cool thing about this commitment is that it pays off for a long time. Meaning on social media, you, what are lucky if you get your content to be seen for 24 hours on a good day, I have episodes on my. From almost three years ago that are still getting downloads today. That's the power of evergreen podcasting. That's the power of SEO search engine optimization because I have a strategy that allows my message to be seen, heard, and listened to. For the years and years, and years and years to come. So if you are completely burnt out on creating content and feeding the content monster of social media every single day, multiple times a day, and trying to build and build and build and build, maybe having a second strategy of a podcast is good for you, especially if you like. So who should have a podcast versus who should just be a guest expert? The person that wants to have a podcast, if you either one have the funds to hire a producer and manager, great. You should have a podcast because you can take that 30 to 40, maybe an hour, a week and record an episode and get it over to them and they can take care of. Number two, if you are someone who is great at bootstrapping, and maybe you have three hours a week, because let's be real, it takes about three hours for any episode. By the time you plan it, record it, edit it and get it out there because these podcasts that aren't being edited that are just being recorded directly into something like anchor, honestly. It can be done and you can get lucky, but quality matters. Quality really actually matters. So if you have a limited amount of time, maybe you only have one hour a week work on a guest expert strategy where you're getting onto other people's shows and you're giving back in that way. But if you can carve out three, maybe two to three hours of time, if you want short episodes, great, you can probably get them done in an hour. I have a client that does 15 minute episodes. And from start to finish, we can get it done, produced her recorded and out in about two hours. So if you have two hours of time and you want your content to last great, you should be a host, but get some. Because there are easy ways to not drive yourself into the ground when you're doing this. And both strategies are great. However, when you are a host, there are some added benefits. One it's your show. You can do whatever the heck you want. You can be completely unfiltered. You can choose to do solo shows. Group shows. Guest experts shows, shows about meditation, do meditation on shows. Tappings whatever you want to do. You have full control. You get to decide how it shows up and your content. Again, if you're pumping out content every week, it's evergreen, it's lasting forever. So if you're spending, I don't know, 60 to 80 minutes a week creating real. If that's part of your strategy and you love doing that. Great. But if you did that 80 minutes a week to produce a podcast, that's something that's going to last a lifetime. So there's just, things to start thinking about of where you're spending your time. You also don't have to publish every week. However, I do not recommend the strategy. I think that you should be consistent and show up every day. Because you are training your audience because you have trained them to listen at a certain day and a certain time. Maybe they've built it into their schedule. So they're used to showing up. So when you don't show up every week, that habit isn't as strong. You have to be really good at content. Have really compelling everything to get them to come back and listen every other week. So it is important to have a strict. The length of the podcast can be anything. There's a podcast that I listened to, that he does a daily podcast and it's one minute, a day. Yes, he does some of the editing and things like that, but he basically reads a quote plugs in his intro, blends it out and then puts it up there. And there are softwares that can help you do that. Tech doesn't have to be as scary as, if that's already sounding overwhelming, then start thinking about getting on other people's podcasts. There's also the strategy of having doing both, which is what I recommend, which is my passion and everything, because I really truly believe that podcasting helps you find yourself, helps you reconnect to your soul, allows you to be 100%. Unfiltered. I believe that having a show and being a guest expert is the best strategy out on the market for long term success. If you're doing a show about current events, yeah. It might fall off, but if you're doing something that can last for forever about content that lasts forever, like this podcast is about podcasting. Isn't going around our way. Anytime soon, it's still hanging out. So in four or five years, this podcast is still going to be relevant. So you need to start thinking about , is your content something that's going to be relevant in a few years, because if it is then podcasting , is for you. It definitely is. So when you're thinking about this and you're choosing your adventure, maybe you just want to dip your toe in the water. Go start pitching yourself to be on podcasts. See how different it is to have a podcast versus a live video, see how different it feels. And the podcast community I've been in. A lot of communities I've been in the business space for, I dunno, six or seven years now. And I have to say, it's the most welcoming community everybody's there to help you. It seems and you can scratch people's backs. There's another benefit of being a host, scratch each other's back. Get in on another show that is in your neighborhood is what I like to call it. So in your niche or has a compatible service when you guys swap. Interviews, you get in front of warm audiences that actually desire what you have and vice versa. You get to help each other out. And everybody wants to help everybody up in the podcast community. There aren't that many people that are like, no, no, no. It's getting a little bit more. Cutthroat. I'm going to say, but not really, where people are starting to charge you to go onto their shows and things like that. But you can really grow without needing to spend a lot of money. Some of these podcast platforms are only like nine bucks a month. So for $9 a month, and then a strategy that uses free software to help you edit your show down heck and buy a $90 microphone or less, you can have content that lasts forever. Depending on your current schedule, the amount of money you have and what you're willing to put into it, to have something that grows. I remember it's a little bit slower growth and not as instant gratification as social media, but that long-term strategy is where. It really is. It's where it's at. I ha I, this, it saved my life. Podcasting saved my life. It taught me who I was. It allowed me to be me and so much more so that.
