In part two of this study in Isaiah 9, Pastor Mat looks at the phrase "Unto us a son is given." Why was the Son of God given? And how does this make possible for "God to call things that are not as though they are"? It's a powerful study explaining why man is not complete without his God.
This passage in Isaiah was fulfilled in Jesus' Galilean ministry. Pastor Mat points out that sometimes we walk in dimness, sometimes in darkness; but we need to walk in the Light of Jesus Christ. How do we get more of Jesus? Find out in this message leading up to our yearly celebration of the Incarnation.
Pastor David takes us through Isaiah's words before turning the microphone over -- as is our tradition -- to the congregation to share inspiring testimonies of what they are thankful to the Lord for this year at Thanksgiving.

Can we "bless the LORD at all times"? Can we trust in the LORD and thereby be delivered from all our fears? Can we be content in any circumstance? Hiding in a cave on the run for his life, David's powerful testimony is a lesson for us all: He sought the Lord, God heard him, and God delivered him from all his fears. Pastor Mat shares this brief message to encourage us to do the same.
Most people would say it is important for us to fight for our rights. But in 1 Cor. 9, the Apostle Paul lists the things to which he had a right, but then humbly gave up those rights for the sake of serving Jesus and His church. Pastor Mat points out that we are usually in the will of God when we make decisions that cause our lives to be harder. But when we give up our rights and trust that Jesus is bigger, we will find that He will take care of us.
This special service saw Deacon David DiBenedetto ordained as our newest Pastor. In his accompanying charge, Pastor Mat talked about why people do verses why people should desire a ministry. He points out that being ordained to the ministry, be it as a deacon or a pastor, is really becoming a slave to Christ. Pastor Igor Alexis, David's wife Rosina and Tyler Frederick also share teaching and testimonies.
In First Thessalonians, Paul is writing to a church living in a time of intense persecution and bewildered by last days teachings. In Chapter Four, the Apostle has words of comfort concerning their loved ones who have passed away already, giving them assurance about believers who die before Christ's return. Then in Chapter Five, Pastor Mat talks about the simultaneous harvest to come: when believers will be gathered to the Lord, and unbelievers will face God's wrath. Which will it be for you: wrath or rest?
Questions regarding eating meat sacrificed to idols prompted the Apostle Paul to teach on the need to balance our liberty in Christ with our love for others. We have comparable questions in the church today: celebrating Halloween, costumes, Christmas trees, etc. Pastor Mat points out that love must reign supreme. We need to be mature enough not to battle over non essentials, but also willing to forgo liberty if it stumbles others.
