Daniel’s prayer in Chapter 9 is a heartfelt plea for mercy on behalf of a nation that had turned its back on God. It is an intercession marked by humility, confession, and a recognition of God’s righteousness, contrasting Israel’s failures with God’s enduring faithfulness. Through Daniel’s example, we see how deeply impactful and necessary prayer is for believers, especially when interceding for a world that often strays from divine principles. Will our first instinct be to turn to prayer in times of tumult?

The words of God are trustworthy. While God has the ability to confirm His messages, often through miraculous signs, we see an incredibly specific dream in Daniel 8 that came true exactly as prophesied 150 years later. The point is that we can trust the words of God, and that the prophecies made throughout scripture, even about the end of the age, will come to pass, just as He says. Because of this truth, we can fully trust in His plan, and remain faithful to Him every day of our lives.
