At this time of year, our nation is focused on celebrating freedom and independence from a foreign oppressor. Likewise, many people find themselves spiritually bound to an oppressive system of what’s called legalism. In this first of a two-part series, we will look at how Jesus breaks those chains, and who we are freed to be in His name.

"You reap what you sow," is often repeated, but rarely attributed to Galatians 6. In the life of a believer, the desire to sow good seed is a battle. We have seen how David attempted to find fulfillment in life through all kinds of carnal means, from sexual gratification to military strength to unimaginable wealth. None of these things brought to him the promise each of those things advertised. Often its the same for us today. Listen and hear what David realizes truly brings joy and fulfillment in life.

In seasons of prosperity, its easy to place our trust in our bank accounts or our abilities, or draw our strength from the things God has given us, rather than God Himself. David forgot that without placing his complete confidence in God, who had never failed him before, he could accomplish nothing even with seemingly overwhelming advantage. Here are four lessons in trusting the Giver, and not the gift.

What are you so afraid of? Even King David, God's chosen leader for His chosen people as he sat on the throne had a seemingly unending list. But whatever you are fearing or causing you anxiety, God promises in His Word that He is faithful to the promises He keeps to us. Pastor Steve walks us through 2 Samuel 22 to see how God empowers His children and drives out fear.

Jesus Christ has won the war over sin and death. However, we as believers still have a battle to fight, as the defeated enemy continues his attack. As the Church, our mission continues, and we need all hands on deck, following hard after our Savior, and coming to the aid of our co-laborers in the Gospel. So what's your job? What does God expect of His church and His children in the fight?

God has designed women in His image to have a unique and wise perspective on many things. Today, we look at an incredible story in the life of one woman uniquely called by God to speak with wisdom and rescue men from making a terribly rash decision. Praise God for the way He has designed men and women in His image!

We're human people, and in spite of our common faith, we will encounter disagreement and even division. Is that ok? How do we deal with disagreements in the church, while keeping our hearts focused on Jesus? We call a lot of people friends, but true friendship is unique. It's more than just a number you're connected to on Facebook. We are talking real, true friends that you know are a gift from God. Friendships who stick with you through thick and thin are those that are supernaturally forged by God. But why are they so important to our Christian walk? How do we recognize true, God-given friendship?
