As a result of what Jesus did for us, and when we surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit in us, we become non-conformists, no longer sucked in by the things of this world.

Have you ever wondered what the voice of God sounds like? Is it loud and thundering or quiet and gentle? Let’s look at a couple of the many different ways God spoke in the Bible.

Feeling the pressure of “should” is everywhere. But! It only results in exasperation and guilt, nothing like the life Jesus wants for us. How do we shake the “shoulds” and lean into Jesus' alternative instead?

Fighting giants and taking leaps of faith require us to be confident in God’s faithfulness. Are you battling with fear of failing? Maybe it’s time to reflect on God’s past examples of faithfulness, so you can move forward with courage.

What we do and how we show up should all be for God’s glory. And it’s so easy at times to take our eyes off the journey and focus solely on the destination that we live waiting for the next big thing to happen in our lives. I’m here to remind you that, even in the small things, God is pleased!

Isn’t it weird how we can go from not caring at all about a topic or activity, and then, the second we develop a relational attachment to it, it becomes the most important thing to us? I believe this truth applies to our faith and spiritual depth.

God’s refining fire does not necessarily feel good, but like Job of the Old Testament, we can rejoice in our sufferings, our grief, and our trials, knowing that the proven genuineness of our faith will result in the salvation of our souls.

If we aren’t willing to take the step out of fear and anxiety into faith, we miss beautiful lessons. You see, the news may show us the worst parts of the world and how bad things are, but when we don’t take the risk to dig deeper, we miss the fascinating story of God’s people.

When we hear and read God’s Word, that is when our faith in Him grows and deepens. Sometimes, you may not “feel” the devotional externally or emotionally, but God says our faith grows. Our faith gets fed.

October is the month of the fun kind of fear. But how do we deal with the kind of fear that pervades our lives? Moses shows us that our circumstances might scare us, BUT WITH GOD, we can have victory over our struggles.
