* Living by a system leads you to your goal.

* A system is a series of steps that give you consistent results.

* We had a motto in our business - “create system-solutions for people problems.”

* If someone always forgot to do something, then we made a system of reminders through emails and dashboards so they wouldn’t forget.

* We do it with our work, but we need to apply it to our lives and relationships.

* We need to create system-solutions to relationship problems.

* If you wrap a system around a relationship it can keep it flourishing.

* Look how David treated his relationship with God:

* Vs 164 - seven specific times he stopped to praise God.

* The beauty of a system is it keeps the main thing the main thing, and gives you boundaries to experience freedom and spontaneity.

* EX: you could read a book for 30 mins before bed each night with your spouse.

* Maybe one night you don’t read a book but you write a chapter, without words! HA!

* You obey the rules, but you think creatively within the rules.

* You do NOT make the rules primary - you make the relationship primary.

* No amount of business success can replace a thriving relationship.

* So wrap a system around the ones you have and watch them thrive.

1 - Be committed to God.

2 - Be self aware.

3 - Never procrastinate.

4 - Always be thankful.

5 - Choose wise friends.

* We built all our businesses “by the Book.”

* Living by the Book keeps you from the traps of the enemy.

* First, recognize there is an enemy who wants to rob, kill, and destroy.

* He does it by setting traps.

* Vs 110a - He uses people, just like God does.

* A snare binds you until you can ultimately be killed.

* He wants to get you to think something, feel something, say something, and do something that harms you and your relationships.

* How do you remain victorious?

* Vs 110b - by living according to the Bible.

* God’s Word gives us promises, principles, and precepts.

* Promises are assurances that He will do something.

* Principles are fundamental truths that serve as the foundation for a system of belief or chain of reasoning.

* Precepts are rules that govern behavior.

* Living by the precepts helps us avoid the snares (traps).

* Vs 159 - it’s not enough to just obey, but we have to LOVE to obey.

* 2 Thessalonians 2:10 - if they didn’t “love” the truth they would’ve perished.

* his is one of the most important things you can learn about your new identity.

* This goes back to a man named Melchizedek, who was the king-priest of a nation called Salem.

* The writer of Hebrews used him to prove Christ’s authority is king and high priest.

* Why? Because believing Jews were going back into Judaism with its emphasis on religion where priests offer sacrifices, etc.

* Vs 1-3 - he had no genealogy, which was figurative for him having no beginning and no end.

* Jesus came in the order of Melchizedek, not Aaron, and is the ultimate high priest. But He also reigns as king.

* What is it about king priests?

* As kings we have dominion, authority, rule, and power!

* As priests we have mercy, forgiveness, empathy, and passion!

* David in the OT was a picture of a king-priest.

* He sat in the position of king with the heart of a priest.

* This is how we do incredible work - we work like kings with the hearts of priests.

* All of our businesses were built on the principles of the Bible.

* King David was the most successful man in his generation.

* Vs 1-4 - we’re blessed when we HEED the Bible.

* Vs 9-10 - a young person can also be a newby in business - how can a person who comes into success make sure it doesn’t turn them into something they never were? By living according to God’s Word.

* Purity and Power are linked - the more of one the more of the other.

* Vs 11a - we’re blessed when we HIDE the Word inside us.

* When we hide something we see it’s value and take it for ourselves (like a gun).

* Vs 11b - it then protects us when we need it most.

* Vs 14 - the result of following God’s Word - you value what He values.

* What we all ultimately want is peace and fulfillment - not bundles of money.

* Vs 72 - value the Bible over riches.

* Living within God’s boundaries give us that.

* Vs 44-45 - Boundaries bring blessing.

The warfare for your soul takes place on the battleground of your mind.

• If you want to win in life then you have to wage war in your mind.

• The writer of Hebrews wrote to encourage believers not to slip back into Judaism to avoid persecution.

• Chaps 1-2 show how ossum Jesus is, and how He was sent from God and is above all others.

• Vs 3:1 - In light of that, we have to FIX OUR THOUGHTS on Him.

• How?

• Unlock the RAS!

• It’s your brain filter that determines what makes it from your subconscious to your consciousness.

• I bought Allie a Ford Focus - I fixed my thoughts on that car.

• I started seeing them everywhere!

• Our thoughts are fixed by:

• 1) What we believe to be true.

• 2) What we truly desire.

• 3) What we focus on.

• EX: the color yellow.

* We’re developing a course for business owners called:

* Hosed: how to make it through deal gone wrong without killing someone or jumping off a bridge.

* Our basis will be on the proper way to forgive “as God forgives,” and using Jesus as the example.

* QUESTION - does God forgive an unrepentant sinner?

* Jesus had to power to forgive sins. What did He do?

* 1) With the paralytic - He granted forgiveness.

* 2) At the cross - He didn’t grant forgiveness.

* He was always “ready to forgive,” but only those who asked got it.

* An unforgiving spirit is about not being willing to forgive (not ready).

* If you have this spirit you can have no fellowship with God.

* DANGER - if we blindly forgive we trample God’s justice.

* Something deep inside won’t sit right.

* We must forgive “as God forgives.” (As Jesus forgave)

* So what do we do when someone does us wrong?

* If they repent, we do what Jesus did with the paralytic - we grant them forgiveness.

* If they don’t repent, we do what Jesus did at the cross - we give the situation to God.

* In this way we’ll be walking in forgiveness because we’re “ready” to grant it to them.

* Vs 14 - Paul did what Jesus did on the cross.

* The best job of all is raising up kids who love Jesus.

* Nobody can do that job for your kids better than you.

* Anyone can replace you at a meeting, but nobody can at the ballgame.

* Paul was Timothy’s mentor, but the spark of Tim’s faith came from his mom and grandma.

* Vs 4-5 - they didn’t have a book or blog or on the speaking circuit, but they were faithful to raise a young boy who would turn the world upside down for Christ.

* A river touches places its source knows nothing of.

* Tim’s mom was faithful when nobody was watching.

* Much like the mom who packed the lunch for the kid who’s lunch Jesus used to feed the 5,000.

* My mom did the same thing.

* Anyone could’ve spoken at a conference or written a book I read, but only one person could’ve walked my lunch up to me at school - and she was faithful to do just that.

* As a parent, what do you do?

* Run at the pace of your people.

* Whatever the pace is in your kids’ lives, wrap your life around that.
