They’re back! With their 2nd Annual Muscle Classic Tournament approaching in April, the Fishing for Muscular Dystrophy Team wanted to come into the studio to do a little promoting about the event. Really though I think ringleader Paul Robertson just wanted to just pay me a little visit with a few of his boys, hang out and try to talk me into going fishing with them. They might have been successful.

Jose Carbonell is just one of those guys that God put on this earth for the right reasons. A hard-working man that provides for his family at Merritt Boatyard and in his free time takes veterans fishing. Sounds simple right? Well, its not a simple task in the eyes of those who served. Jose’s continuous selfless efforts have made an incredible difference in their lives. As an ambassador for Freedom Fighter Outdoors he takes great pride in what he does and considers it his duty as an American.

Super surfer and paddleboarder, Victoria Burgess, returns to the show and brings her other half, Hawaiian native and all-around waterman, Roray Kam, for a little hang out session. Although giving them these titles sells it a little short. These guests not only embody the Connected By Water spirit… they truly live their lives with the aloha vibe. They are both extraordinary people that over achieve on every level. Watch this episode and see how! Is there a doctor in the house? Actually… yes, there is.

One of the coolest parts about working in this crazy fishing world are the friends you gain along the way. It’s always nice to bring a couple of my boys on to the show. During this particular podcast of course we had some laughs, but we found out something all three of us had in common that I think will bond us forever. At times it was shallow, at times it definitely got deep. And it's still a damn shame they wouldn't take me fishing afterwards. Connected By Water presented by Joey Accardi Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Subaru keeping it reel!

About a year ago, my buddy Ricky took the leap and left his previous career behind to follow his dream to be a full time charter captain. If anyone can relate to what that first year of leaving the security of a vested career is like it’s me. He joined me on the podcast to tell some fishing stories, talk about boater safety and share what it’s been like balancing his full time fishing life while still being there as a father. Just a couple of guys swapping experiences over a nice bottle of Papa’s Pilar rum.

We’re back and kicking off 2020 with a bang! Lighthouse Point’s own Florida House Representative, Chip LaMarca (R), truly represents the people on both sides of the aisle. Especially when it comes to matters on clean water and protecting Florida’s precious natural resources. To say we are are proud to have him come on to our Connected By Water Podcast presented by Joey Accardi is an incredible understatement. Chip offered insight on some of our recent local sewer break issues and what needs to be done to make sure this gets handled right for now and the future. He also enlightened us on much of the work the state has done recently to keep all things environmental in check, initiatives that strive towards allowing Florida student athletes to work, eliminating ground damaging septic tanks and more! Please join us for this very special episode.

We close out our last podcast of the year with our second Christmas edition by bringing on my good buddy from Sea Hunter boats, Bernie Perez. He stopped by the studio for a light hearted conversation about giving back to the community, fishing and friendship. Good tidings of peace and joy and thank you to everyone who has watched, listened, subscribed and contributed to making this show turn into a very special project so far. And of course thank you to our presenting sponsor Joey Accardi for allowing us to grow this into something bigger and better for 2020.
