"So there's a small town in Michigan, and it's in the news because this bookstore wanted to move 9,100 books from one bookstore to the new bookstore. And 300 people created what they're calling a book brigade, where they wrapped around from the old store to the new store. They moved 9,100 books into the new shelves, the correct shelves, where they're going to be in the new store. This would have taken a moving company a much longer time."

"It was really interesting to sort of walk the aisles, also be tabling to connect to people about the power of book clubs online and also the ability for organizations to use conversation to really connect and engage a large group of people, a membership group. And we're really excited about the flow we had between publishers and agents who were looking to position their authors and authors themselves who are looking to have more intimate engagement with their readers."

"And it's just crazy because it's six families and lots of kids, and it's always back and forth. And it's not like a culture of sort of borrowing. It's more of a culture of sharing. And that distinction is pretty powerful. I had a conversation with a guy on another swellcast here called Altadena, which is about the people of Altadena and how they're dealing with the fires. And this gentleman is a designer, and he helps build homes."

And to be able to give a kid a book like this, I hope will be sort of a passport to an adventure and also to maybe the next chapter in their lives where they're going to kind of make outer space balloons in their living rooms or in their bedrooms and get creative and imagine themselves flying out into space and to discovering all sorts of things."
