  • @MsColes77 | Imagine you could outsource any three of your personal tasks, chores, or duties (not including how you make income) what would they be?

"It's only me. But if I could outsource that, if I could afford a laundry service, then I would do that. I would certainly do that. And then the third thing that I would outsource is meal prepping, but it would be according to what I want to eat. Because right now, you can hire a meal prep service, but they already have a menu chosen for you."

"Okay. Last year I did some reading along the lines of a few themes, reading and actually listening, absorbing different media, including podcasts and like YouTube videos and that sort of thing. And one was there was history in general, but more specifically I did some stuff with local history and also African American history and actually more like history of the African Diaspora at large as well. But that's a lot to cover."

"I'm a decent cook once I get into a rhythm. But I. I use cookbooks always as a basis to start when I'm starting over. And then once I get into the rhythm, I don't need them as much anymore. Got a Caribbean cookbook. It's one of a few I got from the library. And I went to the grocery store to shop to make like Saturday soup. It's basically a soup. A kind of a thickest soup with dumplings and vegetables."

"I think if I were to get rid of a bio class, a second bio class, it'd be that one. Because essentially those are kids who are more ahead of the game academically, it seems, just based off of the math, I'm just judging off of that than the rest. They're more. They're stacked in that. In that particular class. So I think. Okay, so I think I definitely have my bio classes down to three."

"So I gotta see what the expectations for this are like. Do I push in less during this year than I would have been expected to do? I not have as much communication with the students, parents, But I think I don't want to do that because I think that was. That was an expectation I think I fell short of."

"I think one in two places working with organizations that are more aligned with supporting kids where they are in the learning process. And that's not to say I think the public school system or other school systems are doing bad given what they have. It's very hard to provide structure for a certain number of kids at once. And really individualizing things means really having more room resources. People seem not to make the connection given what's going on there."

"But I think leadership is really a skill. And there are some things that innately you do in the classroom that you won't necessarily do. It's a different kind of like in the moment, managing people who don't necessarily have their own incentive to be there. They're not paid employees. But it's a different kind of leadership where you are convincing people to go in a certain direction in a way that they'll have faith with you, where you have a commanding presence."

"And maybe we had some things to suggest for our ELA side Because the kids I think got a lot out of ELA this summer based on their test scores from the end, from the spring session to the summer and the summer. But they kind of found the class a little boring and I guess like some warm ups are really good to like draw their interest in right away so that what has to be done. I also work with a program that houses a number of high school boys in a high performing."

"There are a lot of things that I think go under the radar that for me I did not necessarily see because you know, kids may not have those conversations with you. So those are some things that come to mind. As far as the under daily classroom and non academic content. I then have to worry about 10th grade academic content. Now we had a platform we used last year that I put a decent amount of stuff on. It's gone."
