"Le echo algunas hojitas, algunas hierbitas, como le digo yo, poquito de aceite y la pongo a presión, pero que va, nunca queda con la calidad, con el sabor, con la sabrosura de cuando mi mamá me hace esta tilapia. Es un plato, bueno, yo diría que típico quizás de la cocina cubana."

"And yet it was the closest to okay, I felt, since the war has started, because by volunteering even to do something incredibly simple like pick vegetables, I felt like I was helping. The point being that even that service made me feel so much more empowered and better. The opposite of how I feel here, which is helpless. Even though it brought me closer to that horror."

"When I got divorced, I had a friend who I had grown up with but hadn't heard from in many years who called me or texted me every day for probably about three months just to ask, how you doing? What happened today? And I don't know. I don't remember anything about how he responded to what I said. What I remember is asking the question and that he showed that he cared by asking me how I was doing. And that was so moving."

"Their mom was a feral cat. Well, yeah, I guess Socks was a feral cat living in our apartment complex. And I was feeding her for a long time, her and the dad of these kittens, they were a cat couple, really cute Socks and big Gray. And I didn't get to Socks in times to get her fixed, so she got pregnant. My boys were born actually on my property on my patio and took care of them for the first three months."

"Last night I went to the World Stage, which is an incredible jazz club in Leimert park in Los Angeles, and I watched over 50 musicians give their time and talents to raise money for the people of L. A. And it was an extraordinary event. It was just such an amazing experience because I had such a great time and I was giving back, and the people there all knew it. We all knew why we were there."

"I was so confused and I was so like nervous that I can never speak English, I can never learn English. And at that time in class 8th, my teacher told me that you have to have a confidence in your own capabilities and only then you can become good at English and at anything. So instead of giving me false confidence or false hope, he gave me a clear path. And after following his advice, today I am able to record a podcast."

"Hello, lovely people of my swell family. What a thought provoking prompt. In today's fast paced world, you know, where stress is often taking center stage of our lives, we find ourselves constantly juggling the demands of our work life, our family and our personal responsibilities. In our work life, the pressure to meet our demands, the deadlines to excel at your work, managing household needs and ensuring that everything runs smoothly can feel overwhelming."

"In those moments of loneliness and isolation, it's easy to feel like you are the only one struggling. But remember, you are not alone. The key is to stay true to who you are. If you did nothing wrong, don't change yourself for anyone else. Embrace your uniqueness and let it shine. People around you may eventually see things differently and appreciate you for who you are now. Creating a safe space for ourselves and those around us starts with understanding and compassion."

"But In March of 2020, during the pandemic, when things really started kicking up with that, we were told that we were going to be working from home full time. This was on March 17, 2020. I was told that as of 5pm that day, I would be working from home full time for the next two to four weeks. And so two to four weeks passed, and next thing you know, it was, oh, we'll be back in the office in June."
