COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- Major League Soccer seems to have some momentum behind it's proposed plan to get all teams to Orlando by early June. But the biggest surprise of the re-opening story probably came from California Governor Gavin Newsom. Could pro sports, and the LA Galaxy be back to the west coast in just a couple of weeks?
On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter, will dive into all the latest Galaxy and league news as the ever-changing picture regarding the restart of the league kicks into high gear.
The guys will start by discussing the week ahead for the Galaxy and why a long weekend should have meant a trip to Rio Tinto Stadium for a game against Real Salt Lake. Instead, the Galaxy published the first pictures and video of individual training at Dignity Health Sports Park. Did everyone arrive back in tip-top shape? Of course not! That's not how any of this works!
Then the guys will continue the conversation around the mini-tournament that might occur in Orlando, and the negotiations with the MLSPA took a big step forward. With the Union offering a counteroffer to the league's proposal, did everyone cut enough to warrant a good deal for 2020? And what happens to the CBA for this year? After all, it was supposed to the start of a new five-year term.
We've got a great show lined up for you as we dig further into the validity of all the opinions on returning to play and on the Orlando experiment. There is a lot to figure out, and it has to happen now!
